on 9/4/16 4:15 am
Good morning! Ok I promised to be honest about yesterday's eating and OH BOY did I eat a lot of crap at the cookout. I ate a few cookies, dill pickle potato chips (OMG, so delish!) and a hot dog with the bun. Actually that was all I ate, all day, though, so calories stayed under 1180.
I am back on track today even though someone is trying to tempt me with a Madeline cookie for breakfast!
B: decaf coffee with skim; Finn crisp, laughing cow cheese and deli chicken
S: Mr Cheese Os
L: plantain chips and black bean
S: Soy crisps
D: ?
QOTD: Yesterday's earthquake and today's hurricane have me wondering--what natural disasters have you been through? Here in MA we mostly get hurricanes and winter storms. I've been through the blizzard of 78 and more recently, Irene and Sandy. I've never had damage to my home, though, thankfully!
Morning all! Yesterday was a carb fest for me too. Back on the wagon today.
I don't mind natural disasters. It's the human disasters I hate.

We occasionally get mild earthquakes here from the New Madrid fault in Missouri and flooding from the Illinois River. We are 20 miles away so don't get actual damage but in 1993 our water was impacted because the water plant went underwater and tap water was not usable. The National Guard brought in tankers of water and cases of bottled water that Budweiser was bottling. They actually shut down the beer line for a short time to do water instead. That's the only disasters for me. Oh I did have an apartment totally destroyed by fire in 1990 but that was good because thats how I met my husband! I wasn't home at the time but pretty much everything was destroyed. Lily and I already have our 3 plus miles in this am bright and early. Post op 4 years and weight at 117 today. Here's the eats B1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz pulled pork 1/2 c Chinese coleslaw that I made to take to my inlaws D 31/2 oz hamburger and cheese rollups 1/2 c Chinese coleslaw S mission one chocolate chip cookie protein bar. Having a cookout today but have a plan. The eating should be ok.
Natural disasters? We had some F4 tornadoes a few years ago around here. Our next door neighbors died but our house wasn't touched. We live in the country so our next door neighbors are 1/4 mile away so it wasn't like on top of us but it was too close.

Carb confessions make me wonder if the fall season has us naturally eating more carbs because I, too, made an unwise choice to eat a hamburger bun yesterday; it was a "made from scratch" bun--does that count as a pardon? Good news--yesterday's paper reported Minnesota's obesity rate has gone down to 26%. Speaking of news, natural disasters go largely unreported here. Sorry, but the coastal areas of the United States get over-reported to the point of annoyance. Lately, I read the U.S. President got criticized for not touring a disaster area. It made me think, "what !! we don't anticipate any news coverage let alone the president showing up." Anyway, years ago the Grand Forks North Dakota flood did make the news and I still think about the family that trusted me, a stranger to them, to care for their young daughter while they dealt with losing everything but their lives.
QOTD just recently a tornado came through down the street from me. Blizzard of 1978 was bad.
