Well I did it. Thursday afternoon at 3 pm this Central Nee Yorker say goodbye to his old self and hello to a journey to a whole new me !

I have read these posts for months now and participated in what I could when I could. Here's the great news for anyone else who just starting the journey. 99.9% of what they tell you is true / real / spot on whatever you want to call it. Thanks to everyone that went before me to give me the knowledge and insight into what I was about to do. Your words of experience and encouragement are, have been , and will continue to be priceless.

Day one post op sucks it feels like you got hit by a Toyota Tundra with a snow plow and a salt spreader on it ( don't own one but because I live in the snow Capital  of the North East I can use it as a reference ). Then day two comes around and it is awesome and so much easier.

More updates to come but that's where I am currently.  Resting comfortably in my home for the long holiday weekend not worrying about what to make for breakfast lunch and dinner. My God what will I do with all my time now ?

Congratulations! Good to hear things like this before my surgery. I swear I go back and forth on an hourly basis. "Having this surgery is going to be great" and then "am I insane having my insides rerouted". THis happens over and over again so it's great to hear you're doing well, home and all is as expected.

Don't second guess yourself. Listen to your gut ha ha or your heart.

I waffled for a day or two but I really said to myself I wouldn't have come this far to back away now.

That's great! So good to hear the wait is over for you and that everything went great.  Everyday will get easier for you now.  Just think how great you are going to look next summer.  Keep those of us still waiting updated on your progress when you can.
