Is this normal?

3 days post op...I'm just afflicted with a bunch of "is this ok" worries tonight. 

I have a lot of swelling in m y lower belly. Like around the navel and lower. Bruising is minimal but the skin where the swelling a bit discolored. I have no idea what would cause that. It's not the iodine, that was all over and has washed off. 

Very bloated..I've had one very loose  and I have passed a bit of gas. The gas pains from surgery got better but I feel very bloated and uncomfortable tonight.

Ok, that's it. Thanks for indulging my neurosis. Heh.

it's been awhile, but I do seem to remember feeling bloated a lot that first week.

its normal- i was all black and purple for several weeks while i healed. the more you walk the more you can get all that gas out of you.

also sip as much as humanly possible, then sip some more...

Are you taking blood thinner shots?  Could contribute to bruising.

They gave me one in the hospital before I left.

Oh lucky lady!  I have to have 28 DAYS of blood thinner shots ... 56 shots all together.  I am more worried about those than the surgery itself.

I have to too. Don't worry, you CAN do this!! ?  

Here I was feeling sorry for myself having 2 weeks of two shots a day. :)

last one tonight! It wasn't bad, it'll just be nice to have one less thing to remember 

I had to give them to myself for 7 days post op.  They're super easy, and I am a HUGE needle wuss.  They make you bruise, but they don't hurt.
