What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Hi Everyone,
QOTD: I haven't been to the fair in years. I do watch little clip its of The Great New York State Fair on Time Warner News...does that count, lol!
My life has been completely crazy....health and family. My Mom's surgery went well, but after she was at my house for 4 days, she started bleeding and had to take her to the local ER. The bleeding stopped as fast as it started...with no reason according to the dr's. Mom didn't feel comfortable being so far from her dr's, so I drove her back home; she had a FU with her dr the next day to make sure she was alright. Then, I got a call that my oldest daughter was hospitalized because her ongoing foot infection was worse. My daughter is mentally challenged and lives in Corning at a home to get special needs help. Anyway, she had difficulty understanding the importance of staying off the infected foot so it got worse. In addition, she possibly has myopathy which reduced the sensation in her foot....plus, other issues. Dr's are going to try 42 days of double antibiotics with a PIC line to resolve the problem. My daughter has been staying off the foot now (wheelchair). If the antibiotics don't work then they may have to amputate that entire foot to the knee. It is breaking my heart to hear this but Kelly (my daughter) is doing better at heeding the dr's instructions because her staff and I have made her realize the concesquence of what will happen otherwise. So far she is doing better. Kelly goes to the hospital every day for her infusions and have her foot checked.
If that all isn't enough, I may have a torn rotator cuff in my left shoulder (I am left-handed) and will most likely be having surgery myself pretty soon. Emtionally, I am just plain exhausted. I spend a lot of time praying for my Mom and my daughter that God will help us to get through everything and to give me the strength that I need right now. Thanks for listening.
I apologize for the long post, I just needed to get it out so to speak.

Thoughts and prayers are with you, especially your daughter! I noticed you had Dr Hill? He did my surgery as well, great guy!
Thanks. Dr. Hill is great!

Healthy thoughts to you and yours. That is rough. Don't forget that taking care of yourself allows you to be there for your loved ones when they need you. Give yourself a hug from me! (but don't hurt your shoulder when you do )
