"I am basically food's creepy ex-girlfriend. I know we can't be together anymore but I just want to spend time hanging out" ~me, about why I love cooking so much post WLS
Well I totally missed AMAW. I'm so bummed, but we had some craziness occur and it just couldn't be one more thing on my plate to deal with last week. We started off last week with an ER trip for my 2.5 year old who decided to start having an allergic reaction to amoxicillin on her last dose. So then we got to ride the steroid toddler train for 5 days. Oh and did I mention my parents were with us all week. I was greatful for the help chauffeuring my older daughter around but nothing makes me need to eat crap than my mother being around. And it's shark week so that added fun to the mix, I will have to make up to my kids for my behavior yesterday. I just lost it and I think I was literally yelling from sunup to sundown. However something I ate made me super ill yesterday morning so I got a good weight jump down from that.
QOTD: We have thes festival nearby every year and we usually go. I'm not a huge fan of carnival rides, they just don't give me warm fuzzies for safety. But we love the music, food , beer and crafts.
I was motivated to get back on the train today, however first day of school blew that up so I had a pop tart for breakfast when I realized I forgot to bring anything else and breakfast in the cafeteria at work was over.

Congratulations to all the meat and critter eaters! Way to go on your job AV!!!
I have to say I am very perplexed to say the least. I have been eating very clean (our clean) and working out. Nothing heavy metal so to only have lost 4 pounds in 6 weeks is bumming me out big time! 1.5 was from last week. Sigh...... Going to try mostly protein drinks and see if that will kick start the loss....
I have not been to a fair since I was a kid. Hopefully that is something I can do with my grand babies.

QOTD: I've never been to a state fair-- my sister took my boys to one in NJ last year- but I guess PA doesn't have them. We've got a crap ton of pop-up carnivals-- but nothing I'd envision being on the level of a state fair. I don't care for carnivals-- too ramshackle of a set up.
I'm so jealous of your Clarks discount!! I LOVE me some Clarks-- but not enough to work retail gain :-) I'd rather walk over hot coals (kidding- I'd do it if I had too). I worked for Macy''s for a while-- but spent most of what I earned there. To truly supplement my income I'd need to work someplace that I'd have no interest in buying their wares.
So ya'll Trader Joe's lover's have been holding out on me. Ya'll should have told (WARNED) me about their to.die.for Key Lime Pie. Free samples were being offered yesterday- and OMG its freaking amazing- like life changing amazing. One just happened to make its way in my cart. I was good and had one reasonable slice yesterday. (then obsessed over it the remainder of the day.) I will force myself to do the same today.
I had an NSV yesterday-- I was looking for Eagles/Phillies tops to wear to our games this week that wouldn't cost an arm & leg. I snagged an Eagles dri-fit style top for $13 @ Ross. And it was a men's size SMALL! I used to need like a 2x-3x in men's clothes.

Key Lime pie is my very favorite dessert ever! BUT. My husband made key lime tarts for the superbowl party we had early this year, and I had a small tart (maybe 3" round), and it put me into such a reactive hypoglycemia shutdown! It was so awful. I was totally out of it for the entire evening. Now just the idea of Key Lime pie makes me feel awful. And that makes me sad.
I will gladly assume the mantle and eat your portion of Key lime pie. You're welcome.
