What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Happy Monday, OH family! How freaking awesome was AMAW/AMAW-C? I'm so proud of all of you! We really are a little family, aren't we? You guys might live in my computer, but I consider you real friends. Group hug!
So, I'm thinking of blowing this popsicle stand early and taking my kid to the Great New York State Fair! Seriously, that's what we call it. Not just the 'state fair', but THE GREAT NEW YORK STATE FAIR. LMAO We've lived in Syracuse for 7 years and I've been to the fair exactly once. Matt's working the DOL booth again tonight, so it might be fun to surprise him (and Michael) with a little excursion. And maybe a deep fried Oreo.
So, for all you Miralax users...that stuff kicks in all at once, huh? TMI, but yesterday morning I spent a whole lotta time in the bathroom. But, it was a good thing I got that out of the way, because yesterday afternoon I started my new PT job! We're looking to supplement the family income so now I'm the newest sales associate at Clarks Shoes at Destiny USA. I haven't worked retail since college, but as my Mom used to tell me "You can be charming", so I dug deep and put on my best smiley face and sold a crap ton of shoes on my first day. Let me tell you...be nice to the shoe people because that **** is hard. There's a lot of running around and searching through boxes and ladder climbing. BUT, it was nice to be active at a job rather than spend 8 hours sitting on my ass in front of a computer. Plus, I get a 50% discount. Yay for new shoes!
QOTD! In keeping with THE GREAT NYS FAIR theme (lol), do you do your local fair? If so, what's your fave thing? Obvs I love the food, but I also love the crappy midway games. Gimme a ring toss or one of those water gun race games and I'm a happy girl. I know they're rigged and I don't ever win, but I love that ****

If it grows in the ground, it's a vegetable. You can fry it, but it's still a vegetable.
You can put a three-piece suit on a pig, but it's still a pig.

I don't do the Texas State Fair. We did one year and the day ended up costing us what I make in a week now. The kids won so many GIANT stuffed animals - and we did NOT have the room for them. PI have zero interest in farm animals, and everything else costs money. I get seasick jus****ching the rides and fried jello is certainly NOT on my eating plan!
B: Homemade overnight oatmeal w/yogurt (apple cinnamon - sorry Yoplait, but I got tired of waiting for you to stock this, so I figured out how to make it on my own)
L: Philly cheesesteak ala Eggface (really looking forward to this - I prepped enough for 3 lunches for me and 1 afterschool snack for my daughter)
D: Balsamic glazed Salmon and broccoli tots (made the "tots" yesterday - so good! but soooo many leftovers!)
S: Babybel, sugar free popsicles, maybe some jerky if I need an after work snack
