Brownies
So we're finally just about ready for our camping trip and I've been planning the meals/food to take on the trip. For the most part it's fairly easy - DH is a meat eater so that works well for me. He also likes his chips to snack on, but they have never been one of my weaknesses. I'm a sweet-lover - especially anything chocolate. I consider my chocolate raspberry iron chewy bite a wonderful snack in the evening. Anyhow, DH usually doesn't go much for sweets, but he asked me to make brownies for the trip. I'll do it - he's a great support and rarely asks for any of my temptations to be around. My biggest fear is that he will eat one or two and then the rest will sit around just calling my name. Help me to be strong!

My DH is pretty good support too even though I probably will forever hold his skinny bones partially to blame for my MO in the first place. Maybe that's why I don't feel the least bit sorry for him with house-rules. For example, he can bring sherbet in the house but not ice-cream and Fig Newtons are the only cookie allowed if stored in the highest cupboard. You requested, "help me to be strong." My help is to put your food needs forever first no matter what and tell your DH what my DH hears when he whimpers about missing a bowl of ice cream before going to bed which is, "tough beans, honey."
...maybe someday you'll find yourself in a place where brownies won't, your words, be calling your name. Some would argue WLSers need to learn how to be in control of temptations. It's a great point and many can do it. For example, I remember someone saying they wear a dust mask when making Holiday cookies. All the dust masks in the world wouldn't work for me. I don't make Holiday cookies, can't make Holiday cookies, and will never make Holiday cookies. Knowing limitations, knowing temptations, knowing what works is the biggest help of all. It may be a major cop-out of my part, I risk criticizing replies, and may apologize for this way of thinking some day but, for today, it is easier and way more do-able to treat myself as high-risk, most-likely-to-reoffend at all times.
Make 3 brownies. Have him eat them in one sitting. Or, make no brownies. Offer him something during the camping trip he might like better than a brownie.
