Vitamin patches

Thanks! I don't mind taking most of the vitamins morning and evening, but often miss 1 or more of my calcium tablets each day, so the calcium patch would be the one I'd order. I'll watch for your lab results with interest!

I started the multivitamin patch as soon as I got back home. I put it on before bed and take it off in the morning as the company says it only needs to be on for 8 hours and if I am going to be nauseated, I'd rather it happen while I am asleep. I compared the labels for what I am supposed to be taking and one multi patch covers it. When I saw my doc last week we talked about it. I have my 1 month post surgery appt where they check my levels in 2 weeks, and I will see then how it works. Doc said if we need other patches we would deal with it at that time, but several of his patients are on the patch and it was working. I am hopeful!

Hello,

I'm just wondering if anyone started on the patches right after surgery or waited?  I've read so many great reviews, and as I'm preparing for surgery, I thought about just going straight to the patches instead of buying multivitamins and calcium.

they weren't available when I was first post op but I use them now, with some tweaking. After a year, best labs I have ever had.

I am scheduled for surgery 9/13 and I ordered a box of the multi for post-op. I gag easily at baseline so I think chewable vitamins immediately post-op sound like a nightmare.

Hi diazymom,

Patches are absorbed directly into the blood stream, so interference of  any patches like (Calcium and Iron) are not an issue, like it would be with a oral vitamin.   I wear 4 at a time :-)

I take the multi plus I take an extra B complex (regular pill) each day, and iron pill 4X a week. I only do that because I had issues with those stats prior to surgery.  My doc said the multi had everything we need in the quantities we need.

Go for it! Using those patches has been the second best decision I've ever made (having WLS was the first)

Definitely going to give the patches a try- My surgery is months away but my vitamin D is low, so maybe I will start with that one.
