Good morning, it is still morning.

Doing well on AMAW-C so far.  Although I looked very longingly at a bag of popcorn last night, but I prevailed.

Late morning to everyone!!

I had my 3 month check up this morning. My doc says I'm a Star Student, and that I'm doing great. He then told me I absolutely have to drink when I'm in Key West (his rule is 90 days, and I'm in the clear there), and he also said I should have some Key Lime Pie. Um...  Honestly... he said that. My Hubby thought I was lying. We talked more and his point was that he wants me to live 'real' life and not spend the next month after I get back beating myself up over 'cheats' that I had on vacation. I don't like Key Lime Pie, and I won't be trying any sugar while I'm gone. I'm too afraid of dumping, but I got his point. Kinda. I love my doctor, we connect on a good level, but right now I'm focusing more on being really good. Although I am planning some alcohol, no pie!

We also talked about my pouch, and he purposely makes smaller pouches with a narrower stoma because of the stretch later.  I was telling him that there are so many folks that can eat more than me that are in the same place surgery wise in my 'Bariatric Support Group' (Psst, that's ya'll hahaha)... he asked me if they had surgery with him, and I laughed and said no. And he said well there ya go. So I am doing fine with what I can eat according to the doc.

QOTD: It's hard. I love summer, especially when winters are cold. It's ALWAYS windy at our house, and sometimes summer's feel like a convection oven blowing all over you when you're outside, but those winter's stink! Fall is nice, but like Grim mentioned, Fall is when it starts getting darker earlier... Spring is great because it does stay light longer, but sometimes Spring is a teasing little Imp... beautiful one day, snowing the next... I'd prefer to be further South, where the Winter's are mild and the wind doesn't blow like crazy! I'm working on that...

B: 2 pieces of bacon (no protein shake this morning!)

L: Can of smoked oysters and a couple of pork rinds

S: 12 nuts, probably

D: Undetermined... packing and getting ready for KEY WEST, BABY!!!!!! Probably leftover chicken and black bean casserole, but we'll see

Oh, and Miralax... a couple of servings today... things are not going like I want them to, and I really need to get it moving before I leave. I'm already notorious for issues when I'm on vacation, and I can't start it off plugged up!

Happy Tuesday, everyone.  So, I may be the only one who actually GAINS weight on AMAW . . . yep, up 1 lb this morning.  It may be residual from my overindulgent weekend, but if it doesn't come off by tomorrow . . .

KQOTD:  Fall.  I freaking love fall.  Living in So Cal. we don't really get "seasons" per se, but I love it when you can feel a chill in the air in the morning and the sun is still hot but the air is cool.  The best!

Here's my plan:

B: chicken thigh meat (2.75 oz)

L: Pesto Shrimp (3 oz)

D: either hamburger patty with a slice of cheese or flank steak (either option will be between 2.75 - 3 oz) right now the flank steak is in MFP

S: turkey slices (2.62 oz) String Cheese, cottage cheese

Totals: Cal. 720; Protein: 101g; Fat: 31g; Carbs: 8g

Good morning, AMAWers!

I won't lie, Day 1 was challenging for me...but so necessary. A lot of head hunger I had to deal with. Also a lot of hand-to-mouth reflex that I found myself consciously stopping....makes me realize what I HAVEN'T been stopping up until now. For example, my 2 year old daughter had a plum with her dinner. She loves to share with me and I had to inconspicuously spit out her plum. That handful (or 5!) of Cheerios that I would have snuck while filling her snack cup? Yup, put them down before they found their way to my mouth. I also threw a package of cookies at my husband's head. They were in my line of vision and it was a rough moment. It was a good day overall. I felt successful.

Unfortunately I also felt like I was detoxing. The headaches by the end of the night were terrible. I feel edgy, like an addict looking for her fix. *sigh* It is a struggle, but a necessary one.

Moving on to Day 2...my menus are boring. Much the same as yesterday. I love reading everyone's menus so that I can get some inspiration.

Time since surgery - 3+ years

B: 2 slices Taylor pork roll

S: 2 oz. summer sausage

L: 2 links Cajun chicken sausage

S: 2 oz. Albacore tuna

D: ½ cup beef taco meat

S: 14 microwaved pepperoni chips

Calories: 1,012

Protein: 84

Carbs: 8

I've also made a conscious effort to get my water intake up to a full gallon. Historically, I drink around 96oz. daily, but stepped it up to the full 128oz. yesterday. Today we are on track to do the same.

Good morning lovely people.  AMAW-C went very well yesterday.  It is amazing how few calories I can eat when all of my food is dense protein.  This morning it was very cool out, but is supposed to get to the low 80's this afternoon, so that works for me.  The tomato crop is starting to come in like gangbusters.  It looks like I will be making sauce in the near future.

QOTD:  While I love all of the seasons for their own special attributes, I have to say that Fall is my favorite.  I love the smells, the light and the crisp weather.  Plus, that means boots, leather, cashmere, merino wool and all of the other wonderful wardrobe items.  I also love having a fire in the fireplace.  I am not a fan of getting up in the dark, but that is the price we pay for boots!  I noticed this morning that the light in the morning is already beginning to fade.

Time Since Surgery:  21 months

B:  Egg Beaters, mozzarella and bacon omelette

S:  Turkey Kielbasa

L:  Pulled Pork

S:  Prawns

D:  Flank steak and lobster

Total:  Calories 791, Carbs 7, Protein 94

Today's weight:  139
