What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers? AMAW Day 1
Good morning and happy AMAW-C! I'm going to give it a go. I'm still having a bit of nausea and am trying to keep portion size small . . . which means I'll have to eat all day to get my macros but I'll do what I can! I'm actually kind of looking forward to it . . . my eating this weekend was no stellar and the scale is up a bit . . . I didn't overeat, just didn't make the best choices.
Here's my plan:
B: 2.72 oz of New York Strip steak
L: 3.35 oz chicken thigh
D: Flank steak (I budgeted 3.3 oz but (a) that may be a lot of steak for me at one time and (b) I'll have to see what my actual measurement is)
S: ham (2.5oz); string cheese; 90 cal. roasted turkey and cheese roll
Totals: Cal. 699; Protein: 87g; Fat: 31g (full fat cheese); carbs: 6g
Have a good week!
Thanks for starting us off Deanna. I am a bit late to the party today. Lily and I got our 3 plus miles in early this morning and the temps were nice and cool. Post op 4 years next Monday and weight at 117 today. My most recent NSV was walking all over the state fair Friday and not even needing the tram. Hubby could not even keep up. I also was able to resist all the yummy goodness of fair food and stuck to water and a ribeye wrap without the wrap. Here's the food plan for today B omelet with ham, green pepper, onion and cheese (1/2 an omelet) L 31/2 oz deli chicken and cheese 1/2 c caprese salad D 31/2 oz ground beef with salsa 1/2 c broccoli S mission one chocolate chip cookie protein bar. Have a great day everyone and make some amazing choices.
Thanks for starting this, Deanna.
Still no pictures of my 8,000 pounds of frozen meat... you'll just have to take my word for it!
I'm ashamed to say I "carbed-out" all weekend. Yes, it's that old pre-op mentality that I need to pork out before a diet... this morning I feel terrible. I have a carb-hangover. I'm gassy, abnormally hungry for so early in the morning, and Pamela (my pouch), is sore and angry with me today.
So, I'm looking forward to feeling better as the day goes on.
My menu:
- 1 egg
- 2 turkey bacon strips
- 6 oz Isopure zero carb drink
- L&F Yogurt
- 2 oz turkey breast w/L.C. Cheese melted
- 2 oz EOR Rst Beef w/2% Jack & Colby cheese (.5oz) melted
- 2 oz deli ham & FF American cheese slice rollup
- 1Salami Roll up
- BabyBell Cheese
- 4 oz boneless, thin cut Ribeye on my new George Foreman Grill (1st use - wish me luck!)
950 cals, 28 carbs (wu-hoo!), 114 protein
Day one - I GOT THIS!
I feel ya on the carb overload part. I was eating them like they were going out of style! Even putting them in mfp, I was like you know you are eating way too many carbs then sure as **** would do the same thing the next day. Detox time!

Good morning all of you AMAW and AMAW-C carnivores! I am so excited to do this. I need a reset on my eating, and this always does the job. I had a really nice weekend, but they always are over way too quickly. Sometimes it seems that there are less hours in a day on the weekend.
QOTD: I was at an Escrow office last week signing docs for the sale of my rental property. I was chatting about shopping with the agent, and she said something like "blah, blah, blah...if I were tall and thin like you, I would wear less conservative clothes...blah, blah, blah." Wait. What? Tall and thin? Me? I actually looked around the room to see who she was talking to. So crazy.
Most of my AMAW-C prep will be tonight, because I already had meat in fridge for today. I did cook some chicken thighs in my Instant Pot last night, and they came out beautiful!
Time Since Surgery: 21 months
B: Egg Beaters, mozzarella and bacon omelette
S: Turkey Kielbasa
L: Chicken thigh
S: Prawns
D: Rib eye
Totals: Calories 861, Carbs 5 (!), Protein 99
Have a great day everyone!

So my Husband ordered me an Instant Pot for Christmas back when Amazon had that big sale day... he had it delivered to the house, and usually he's home and picks things up. I came home and saw the box on the porch, and it was clearly labelled INSTANT POT all over it. I smiled, and ignored it for TWO days... waiting for him to scoop it up and hide it for Christmas. FINALLY, I just told him it was out there. Now it sits - I kid you not - in our foyer... and I'm not allowed to use it. He'll wrap the sucker up and give it to me for Christmas!!!
What kind of man teases you like that??!
I can't wait to get my hands on it and use it! Damnit!
