Four Years (with Pic)
Congratulations Grim!! You have done such an amazing job at getting to your goal and then STAYING there!
But even more amazing is how helpful you are to everyone else. Thank you for that, I hope everyone else is helpful to you when you need it. Obviously I wasn't here when you started out but I hope if you ever need a pick me up for something you feel like we provide it :)
Starting out with a high BMI it was seriously important to see others with a high BMI on here posting and being successful a few years after their surgery and for me one of those people was definitely you. Not to mention that I'm about 95% sure you were one of the people who helped me out when my NUT was a moron and I created my own eating plan with the help of people here. So IMO you're one of the people who helped me be successful so far.
You are awesome, congrats again!!

Congratulations on your continued success! You must be so proud of yourself, and so you should be. Your hard work and continued willingness to never give is obvious with that picture.
Have you had any issues with excess skin? If so, is removal an option?
Amazing determination for the MyFitnessPal as well. That must be such a natural part of your day after all this time. Do you follow the MFP generated numbers for calories, protein, fat etc., or do you input your own info.
Again, Congratulations!
Cheers,
Skotti

Sure, I have some excess skin. It's impossible to lose this much without it. But, from seeing what others have suffered witj, I have less than most. I wouldn't mind getting rid of it, but I'd have to win the lottery first.
I played around with the macro nutrient setting in MFP early on, but it's been ywars since I bothered looking at them. I eat relatively few things, so over time the numbers won't change much. The only thing I pay any attention to are the calorie totals and trends.

I was going to ask about skin. You look incredibly fit - your thighs aren't hanging out your shorts :) ... seems like a great testimonial for Walking. Do you do any weight lifting / training? THANKS for all your sharing here ... you are super helpful. Your all ham all-the-time posts were pretty amazing, too. Congrats and thanks again!
I lifted heavy while I was in the losing phase, to maximize fat loss and minimize muscle loss. But not since maintenance. There was just no way I was going to continue with the gym long ter.
I have great respect for those that hit the gym consistently. I just knew I wouldn't. And one of the key parts of this process is adopting activity and eating plans that we can do long term.

Wish I had listened to my exercise physiologist who pushed resistance training pre-op and post-op. I knew I would never be a gym person either, so I got the no-frills Garmin Vivofit (I even knew I would fail using one of the fancier ones you have to Charge) the same day I gave up Diet Dr Pepper pre-op. I have kept up the walking (sure is easier with weight off!) and hope I always will since it is the easy thing I know I can do long term. But I wish I would've done resistance. NYMom's arms are The Bomb!! And you sure don't look like your BMI was ever high. Congrats again!
Congrats Grim! I can't say much more than everyone else has... as you know I'm waiting not so patiently for my surgery and you are always good for great advise and straight talk as well as an awesome sense of humour. Glad to have "met' both you and JB. I'm happy to say I have the scale already, and the fitbit. I'm not so good at logging but I'm working on it. I want to have some great habits in place before surgery.
RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.
77 lbs lost and counting!
Losing the regain! I got this!
Congratulations!!
I am really very new, and only getting to know you and the others that are so pivotal on this board, but I have to say, I love your posts, your sarcasm, humor, and keeping it real for all of us newbies! You're an inspiration (as cheesy as that sounds, it's true!) to me, and I know others on this board.
I can't wait to grill up the meats that you do, and join you and everyone else on the AMAW challenges!
Keep on Keeping on!
