higher fat or closer to Keto diet and bypass?
Hi Turner! My calorie limit is set to 800 (I stall out over that, it sucks but that's just the way it is), and my current macros are 5% carbs (10g), 45% fat (40g), 50% protein (100g). My carbs ONLY come from veggies and most days I do not have more than 5g TOTAL carbs. I count total carbs, not net carbs, I feel like that is a trap for me personally. I also have been limiting my dairy quite a bit lately (very little cheese, only 1 tbsp HWC in my coffee in the morning). I feel like I am between Keto and Paleo. I hope that helps!

Hi ShandrewsCA,
I have been looking for someone who has walked this walk already. Thanks so much for your posts! I am almost as far out as you are on the gastric bypass and have found myself gained 60lbs. I started at 450, lost 263lbs to my low of 187 (and I didn't feel good at this weight). I came back up to about 200lbs and that's where I would like to be. I felt good at that weight and was very active and energetic! I wanted to ask about your progress on the keto diet as I have embarked on it myself and like so many others, I found that the keto calculators are not really meant for bariatric folks. Over the past couple days the fat and protein intake were just too much for me to handle. I also wanted to ask if you are counting all your vegetables in the carb count. I keep finding that I go over with the veggies (and I happen to love them!). I also have a desk job that is incredibly boring so I tend to snack a bit too much...Thanks again for your posts, just put a lot of light at the end of my tunnel!!
I believe I may be in the same boat as you
I had surgery 2001, and lost just over 180lbs
i have with much frustration gained back over 150
i am simply sick that I have d Me this and have been thinking about the Keto, but I don't want to fall into another trap.
So do you follow the same 'rules' of Keto?
thanks for any help you can give!
