What's on Your (photo) Friday Menu, RNYers?
Hey Yall!
Thank god is FRIDAY!!!! wahoo
Plans for this weekend:
Today: restocking my jewelry/accessories at our antique place (Got about 11 Cork design purses on vacation and they are awesome!)
tomorrow we are eating out at a tavern= will probably get burger or fish and then going to one of those paint pottery places that i having a grand opening. im making dessert for my DH and neighbors- making handmade apple pies from neighbors garden apples.
Sunday dont have plans yet
QOTD: we are rural- about 15 min from closest grocery store. it takes a bit of planning. we have just over an acre of land in our subdivision. It is pretty quiet here.
yesterday I ate much of the same stuff- really like the chicken turkey burgers I made though a little but dry.
Went grocery shopping last night after work- got more chicken (shocker) ground turkey, pork ribs, gizzards, and will cook up some turkey brats - getting prepared for amaw challenge. was also surprised that kroger didn't have pumpkin puree? was going to make some cool food with it and now i can't.
Today I'm eating
chicken/turkey burger
wendys small chili
yogurt
i think i will make the ribs in the instant pot then finish on grill for dinner
Morning!! I had a photo I wanted to share of a super bargain I got at the Gap in Florida- but it looks like i deleted the pic. Two wool skirts- perfect for fall @ $4/each! Clearance from $59 each-- I guess Florida is not a good place to try and sell wool skirts :-)
I have no food left either AV. I did a run last week for non-food items; but we have no meats; no sides, no snack- nothing! We'll be doing take-out tonight for sure-- and I'll shop early tomorrow after I hit the gym.
QOTD: I live in the city- I have to, its a requirement of my job. I grew up in suburban Long Island- so while I was anxious to be in a city- I'm OVER city living now. Schools suck, crime is out of control- I worry for my kids safety getting to/from school-- way to many incidents of kids being shot, jumped etc. Our neighborhood overall is decent- but its can vary widely street to street. There have been at least 2 episodes where I've witnessed shooting from my living room. Ideally I'd like to live 1-1.5 hours outside of a major city. We plan to relocate in about a year to North Carolina.
Time since surgery: 15+ months
M1: 1 scrambled egg, 1/3 cup turkey sausage crumbles, sprinkle of cheese
M2: 2oz tuna, salad & 2 boiled eggs
M3-4? Likely pulled pork or Chic fil a nuggets and cashews and cheese

Holy crap, that's scary! I work in the city of Syracuse and my office is in a not so great area. There always seems to be something going on outside the building. There's a robbery at the Chase Bank on the corner pretty regularly.
And I hear you about getting bargains in FL. I have this awesome Ralph Lauren turtleneck sweater that I bought in FL years ago for like $20, marked down from over $200!
I live in the middle of nowhere in a tiny town in Texas... it's a temporary thing, and a long story, but we promised the kids no more moves til after high school so we'll be here for 4 more years. There's a small and overpriced grocery in town, nearest Walmart (also on the small side) about 20 minutes away, with an HEB about 5 minutes from that - also very small. I spend every Saturday morning driving an hour to get to better stocked grocery stores, and running errands, only picking up a few items locally as needed throughout the week.
We're going out of town this weekend for my daughter's birthday (We're doing an Escape Room thing for her birthday). I've deliberately let things get low, but then I realized that I won't feel like grocery shopping Sunday night, and doing the prep work for the week after spending two days with the in laws.
B: Yoplait Plenti, Peach
L: Egg salad, String cheese, applesauce
D: depends... kids are planning on Hamburger Helper for themselves and dad, but I may pick up a rotisserie chicken while I'm out and about tonight doing the shopping (Read that tip here on OH - thanks for the tip! Never thought about it before, what a lifesaver!)
S: Sugar free pops, protein shake for the road
Happy Friday!

Happy Happy Friday!!!
First day of school here! Kids are back on their schedule, which I think is a good thing for them... though they might not agree!
QOTD: We live in a rural area... we have 2 horses, a mini mule, and a giant mule... a cow... and had chickens until the great chicken war with our neighbors - though I will be replacing the chickens in the Spring because I REALLY miss having them! I am NOT a country girl. I play one in real life though, which sometimes boggles my mind. The plan is to hold up here in the country until the boy graduates high school - we love our schools - and then find an old place in the midtown area and restore it completely. OK, that's my plan anyway
Busy day today... leave this job at 11:15, go give up some blood for my blood test for my 3 month appointment next week, make it over to my Buyer's soon-to-be-home for a final walk through at noon, and then head home and do my nails for our trip to KEY WEST next week! I'll read everyone's posts then while my nails are drying! LOL
B: Premier Protein shake
L: Um... Hmmmm...
D: Yeah, I need to plan better
Yesterday I had a Shake for breakfast, subway meatballs for lunch (I used to love these, I ate 1.5 of them yesterday and was disgusted by them... WTF?), meat pulled from my hubs Italian beef sandwich, daughter's gyro, and a center bite of my son's burger and 3 fries... some nuts for a snack too. We went school clothes shopping and ended up at this little hole in the wall Chicago eatery place... None of it tasted good to me, but the rest of the family was raving over how great it was. I think my taste buds have given up and went into hibernation. Food just isn't appealing to me AT ALL right now... I'll take it, because I'm sure it'll change soon enough.
My kids in all their glory! Son is bummed because his hair has to go back to brown this weekend. Color Guard won't allow it, so that's why it's so washed out and faded...

My daughter had blue hair all summer! She begged to go "black" for the school year and since that's an allowed color, I caved. I dyed it at home but although the blue had faded to aqua by then, it turned blue-black instead of just black! And it REALLY suits her! lol - who would have guessed? But, I bought two more boxes of blackest black dye to try again Sunday night to turn it to a school approved color before she goes back to school Monday morning.
