What's On Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
LOLOLOL Ya are killing me today. I'm sitting in my office laughing and people are walking by looking at me like I have lost my mind. Thanks for the giggles.
I finally got to the grocery store last night and almost lost my mind. I was in the breakfast cereal area and realized that I didn't know if I needed any cereal because the one kiddo that hasn't abandoned me to run away and go to college isn't much for cereal. Then I realized I had no clue how to shop for just three people. Then I was standing there looking at cereal boxes and fighting back hysterical tears because I miss my babies. I wanted to hug on a stranger who was walking by and tell her all about how sad I am that I miss my kids and they grow up so fast and why didn't anyone warn me how hard this was going to be anyway! I did not hug the poor stranger lady who haplessly was walking by though I did make sad sniffling eye contact and she nodded sweetly and I felt comforted. Uhg. I miss those damn kids so much and it hasn't even been a week!
QOTD: I haven't really even wanted ice cream since surgery but I do love the Enlighten bars that are pseudo ice cream. My favorite one is the caramel. I have maybe one a week and that seems to sate that particular craving.

I am not going to be that mother... I am not going to be that mother... I am not going to.... Oh **** my daughter is a Junior this year, and wants to start looking at colleges!!! WTF???
Ugh, I'm sorry you're going through this. I hope it does get better though!
Buy the cereal to make you feel better and feed it to the birds!

I don't think Cinnamon Toast Crunch is good for birds. LOL I left with no cereal but lots of bacon. I ended up cooking silly amounts of food for my Guy. I think he is enjoying my transference of care taking behaviors. I keep cleaning things in the house that NEVA get cleaned, making all sorts of his favorite foods, folding mountains of laundry, organizing random drawers, and generally fetching at a higher than usual rate. He seems to think "pouting empty-nester" Elizabeth is a win for him. LOL Good times!

Mine is a junior this year as well. He is all about going to trade school, and I want him to be happy. We have a bunch of trade schools close by, so I just assume he's going to still live with me, but who knows. He may get a job and go to school and want to be out on his own. I know I have at least 3 maybe 4 years before he leaves me.
I think it's important for kids to do what makes them happy. I have very few regrets in life, but being stuck in an office full time, staring at a computer all day is one of them. I wish I would have found Real Estate sooner (rather, had the nerve to do it earlier)... I LOVE it, but now, making the jump to it full time is hard. I have great benefits, that paid for most of my surgery to begin with, and paid vacations...
Good for him, and if trade school is the way for him, then it's the perfect route. I see my son in some kind of trade school... I'm thinking chef school may be his calling.

Aww, that made me tear up and chuckle at the same time. LOL I'm sure they miss you too! How long until you can see them again?
