What's on Your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning Kristen and the rest of you beautiful people. I had a good night. The midday nap for my kiddo did the trick and he wasn't jumping on the bed like a maniac at bedtime. My hubby is out of town tonight, and I have my 1 year followup with my surgeon this afternoon. I'm thinking he's going to be happy with my progress, though I have some questions about my labs. My Ferritin is a little low, but it's up from where it was at pre-surgery. I will admit that my vitamin intake is spotty, but I've been doing much better at taking everything on a regular basis. I hope that I actually see the surgeon today, and not his PA, since I haven't seen him since last August, lol. It's a big hospital with a big bariatric program. They really are the best in the area and a center of excellence, so I know that with only 2 bariatric surgeons on staff they get really busy. But I'd like to actually see the guy who cut me again, ya know?
KQOTD: I've never heard of this before. I am thinking I'm a mix of touch and gifting. I love to give things to people. It makes me feel really good to give gifts. But I'm also a very touchy person. I'm always rubbing my kids backs, or hugging and stroking them. Even the 17 year old gets a back rub if he's sitting in his computer chair, or I'll make him sit with me and the baby and snuggle (in a very non-creepy way, I swear). I specifically love to make things for people. I just had a conversation with MelissaSue the other day about this very thing.
I'm cutting back on the carbs people. I would love Daisy to organize another AMAW for next week, but if she's too busy and unable, I'll do it. It would be good to post it on the main boards as well, to see if we can get some participation there. I'd love to have a thread to post our recipes and pics to (outside of this thread).

my appointment isn't until 2:00 this afternoon. My scale this morning said 165,2. I'm wearing shorts, a light weight tshirt and my ballet flats so I can kick them off before I get on the scale.
I only saw my surgeon at my 2 week follow up!! And not since....well not for a follow up anyway. He did my gallbladder surgery and my endoscopy.
Other than that I see the NUT and the NP. Both of whom I could care less for. Oh well.
CROCHET AT THE GIFTS!!! You are crazy! LOL
Good luck at your year follow up, you have done AMAZINGLY WELL!!
I see my doctor and his assistant... I don't know if they'll ask/expect me to see the NUT again, but I'm thinking I will politely decline. I wasn't too impressed with her... she's a twenty something very thin, never been overweight young lady. I have no doubts she knows her nutrition, however, I was able to answer all of her questions/tests correctly when I did meet with her prior to surgery (several times)... I know what needs to be done, and I feel like I learn so much here, and from other RNY patients that I know, that I really am not going to spend the buck$ to see her.
If I ever have issues, and they can provide me a NUT that has been there, done that, then maybe my attitude will change, but having a NUT that just quotes what my kids are learning in school - I feel - doesn't help me.
Wow, did I just rant? I didn't mean to, but can you tell this NUT irritates me??
