What's on Your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
Morning. So tired. Need more sleep. It won't stop raining here in Texas and that has me wanting to nap instead of work. I am grateful we aren't having the terrible flooding that the LA folks have but it is still a lot of gloomy for a Texas summer.
QOTD: I took a little online quiz and this was the result:
Quality Time | |
In the vernacular of Quality Time, nothing says, "I love you," like full, undivided attention. Being there for this type of person is critical, but really being there--with the TV off, fork and knife down, and all chores and tasks on standby--makes your significant other feel truly special and loved. Distractions, postponed dates, or the failure to listen can be especially hurtful. |
I would say that is pretty true. Time is the most valuable thing any of us has. I love sharing it with the people I love.
Menu:
B: Greek yogurt, L: Greek yogurt and grapes, S: Pretzels and Greek yogurt Onion and Parm Dip, D: Still no clue. Really need to go to the grocery store today!

Push the rain up here! We can use it!
The floods in Louisiana are crazy! I have a friend in Baton Rouge, and her, her wife, kids and dogs had to be rescued from their house! Never, in all of the hurricanes for the past 12 years or so has their house flooded. So scary...

Good morning everyone,
Today is my last day of summer break. Back to the grind tomorrow. I start feeling a little bored by August so I'm ready to return to work. I love my job and the kids! I miss the kids. (Although by the end of May I will think they are loathsome and reptilian, lol.)
I've been keeping my carbs so low because any kind of fruit or wheat makes me so nauseous. It sure is making the scale move, but I'm tired of this nasty fruity taste in my mouth.
Qotd: so the acts of love I like best are service. My dh is not very good at this cause he just doesn't get it. But a month ago when I had a flat tire on the interstate, I wanted to call roadside assistance but he insisted on driving out and fixing it. My hero! However, he could care less about me doing things for him because what he wants is quality time. He hates it if we don't have some connection time every day. He hated it when I was gone last week. It's good to be missed!

I have to tell you guys another good thing. I bought a gym membership in July but didn't end up using it much so far because I was doing a lot of outdoor exercise and swimming. I want to use it now that I'll be working and was trying to dredge up the will power to go in the mornings. I'm so happy because my 16 yo daughter who wants to stay in shape for track signed up for a membership and we are going to work out in the mornings. Yay! I have a workout buddy!

Can you chew gum to help with that nasty taste in your mouth? I also buy the sugar free Jolly Rancher's and suck on those a lot. Now I realize everything I just mentioned is sweet, but it's different than the taste in your mouth, so it might help!
My ketosis breath is more like a dead person... not sweet at all.
You're not having any maple smells when you pee are you? Keep a nose out for that!
Way to go with your daughter signing up too! I've put the gym membership off, and decided getting outside for the next couple of months, now that it appears to be cooling off here is my choice of exercise. I will definitely reevaluate when the horrid cold weather arrives...
And this " I will think they are loathsome and reptilian, lol" Made me snort at my desk!!! What grade do you teach?

No weird smell when I pee, just the nasty taste in my mouth. I don't think my breath is bad, but I suppose I should ask my husband, lol.
I have taught middle school for the last eight years. You start out the year super strict and then by November or so you love them, and by the end of May you hate them all.
This year I'm working with 1st and 2nd graders so it'll be interesting to see how it goes with them.

What's funny is when my kids were little, I loved working with middle schoolers. Now that I have teenagers at home I hated dealing with the same issues at work. So now I'm moving down to work with the littles.
The best part is even when they're brats, you get to send them home at the end of the day!

Wow, Melissa. How are you sane, lol? I could deal with toddlers and, most days, with teens. But both???
I remember when I had four kids 6 and under and one of my friends checked into a psych hospital for 72 hours, and I was like, you can do that? 72 hours away from little kids? LOL.
(I'm not making light of mental illness in any way!!!)
