Advice needed
I have had Lap Band(10/2006), lost only 30 lbs and then RNY (1/2013), not sure if I need a revision, but I have gained back 50 of the 90 lbs lost from the RNY (after the passing of my husband, 3/2015), I am just tired of this roller coaster....anything will help! I know many will say go back to the basics, at this point I am not even sure what that is anymore...I was doing so well...but whatever you have, throw at me, I'm ready!
I would start by making sure the first thing that hits your mouth is dense protein. Try this Five day meat test
Start logging everything that you eat. Calories, Protein, Carbs, Sugars, etc.
If you haven't already go back to your surgeon and get labs done to see where your vitamins are at. If you are not taking any vitamins get back to doing that also. Also speak with him/her about your weight gain and ask them to check to make sure your pouch and everything is still good.
You can do this, but it will take some time. Especially when detoxing from carbs.
I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your husband. Hugs.
Here is a general list, but know some of us have to adjust what we take and how much of it. vitamins and more vitamin information

Get your house cleaned out of carbs. Refined carbs. Go to the store and get protein. By eggs and hard boil them. If you still feel restriction everything will be okay.
I understand about gaining weight back. I gained about 20 pounds. I lost it. Tracking my food and being honest really helped.
Knowing we deserve to be happy and healthy.
Just get back to shopping on the outer isles of the grocery store.
Take care
I hear you on the roller coaster. It gets mentally and physically exhausting. You will probably get a lot of good suggestions for the food stuff. I would just say to make sure you also deal with the mental stuff. It's no surprise that such a tragedy -we all often eat in response to mental distress. I hope you have been I can see a therapist to process the grief. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Personally for me, after being on the craziest roller coaster, I finally found OA which has put me on a new kind of ride but one without such great highs and lows. It hovers more in the middle for most days. I have examined the reasons why I go to food as a coping mechanism and just that knowledge helps keep my little fingers out of the cookie jar.
