What's On Your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
I was texting with Stacy about the Starbucks dilemma yesterday and we thought of you and your cinnamon dolce sadness. I am sincerely upset that they are getting rid of their sugar-free options (other than sf vanilla and skinny mocha). I sent corporate an email but I doubt it will do anything. I may have to hit up my local coffee shop more often. They have 10-15 sugar free flavors. Starbucks is just so damn convenient.
Good morning everyone,
Today is my 3 month surgiversary and I'm down 55 pounds. Yay! I've had several week long stalls but lately the scale has been moving like crazy. Kicking carbs to the curb (protein bars, fruit, low carb wraps, etc.) really started the scale moving. And the dang cravings have gone away. Woot woot!
I'm winding down my summer here. I go back to work on Thursday. I'm starting a new job. I've been teaching special education, reading and math, to middle schoolers for years. Next week I start with 1st and 2nd graders. Eek. I definitely can't use my middle school teacher voice with 6 year olds, lol.
Qotd: So I told you all that I had a tough trip with my mom. The last night on the road she made me ******g livid. We were all tired and irritable. We got to our hotel room and my mom asked Lucy, 14 yo, to do something and Lucy rolled her eyes. My mom, 76 yo, started crying and got her car keys and drove off into a strange town. Lucy started freaking out wondering if she was ever going to come back. And here's the thing: my mom pulled this **** all the time when I was a kid. She would get mad and leave and tell me she was never coming back. So to see her freak out my daughter made me beyond pissed. I still haven't decided how to talk to her about this. Too mad still.

BE NOT AFRAID JPII
Ugh... moms can be hard at times! My mother was never around when I was a young teen... she was too busy out dating men, smoking pot, and clubbing to be bothered... now ALL I HEAR is "how to the kids feel about that?" from her... in my brain I'm screaming, maybe you should have worried about that when it was YOUR kid! Oh, don't get me started or I'll have to update my post on the last time I was angry! LOL
The only advive I have is, talk to her calmly, maybe even write it all out and read the page over the phone, or mail it to her. Then you can get your words out without as much emotion.
HAPPY SURGIVERSARY TO MY SURGERY BUDDY!!!
You are doing great!

Hi Amy,
Congratulations on your 3 month Surgiversary and your 55 pound loss! Way to go!!! I can relate to your anger. Nothing makes me as mad as when someone upsets my daughter! Plus since this was something your mom did to YOU as a child and is now doing to your daughter, I can see how you'd be doubly mad!
Hugs!
