What's on your Sunday Menu, RNYers?
Home from church and just finished lunch today. No fair food settles well with me anymore but that is most likely a good thing and the reason I've been below goal for over 3 years. Before surgery I would have had one of everything sweet. Post op almost 48 months and weight at 117.6 today. Lily and I got up at 530 and got our 3 miles in for today. It's a good thing because then it started to Rain! Here's the food for today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz fish 1/4 c butter beans D 31/2 oz meatballs with a bit of pasta sauce and 1/2 c sautéed zucchini (zoodles) S mission one chocolate chip cookie protein bar. Have a good day everyone and make some wise choices!
Good morning from the west! Fair food, that's so easy for me. I had a deep fried Snickers bar once, DEEEEEEEELICIOUS, and I adore the big, freshly dipped in batter and fried corn dogs. Surprisingly, I had my first gallbladder attack after the Snickers bar (this was a few years ago - not recently)
I have a pork tri-tip in the crock pot for dinner. It's a cut of meat I've never messed with before but an unbeatable price made me buy it. After reading the Internets for recipes, I guess the reason it's so cheap is because it's flavorless. Wonderful. It's marinating in Montreal steak seasoning, jalapenos and olive oil, plus I wove a blanket of bacon and wrapped it up in that. Wish me luck.
Other than that, no idea on the menu. I am only able to tolerate about 2 bites a meal right now. My protein numbers are complete ****
Everyone have a wonderful day and a great Sunday.
Yes, pork appears way cheaper than other meats with few people buying it, either. Our local Target slaps a $3 off coupon on close-dated pork roasts. For under $5.00, I bought one to throw in the crock pot. We ate pulled pork for days off that one roast. Best kept secret for getting, GlitterGirly words, "complete sh*t" protein numbers up.

Fair weekend here, too. I gussied-up in new clothes, layers of makeup, and a fresh hairdo so I didn't eat a thing for fear of wrecking the best look I could muster. Vanity has it's advantages sometimes. However, I did watch a high school friend eat fry bread with a twinge of jealousy when I heard him bite into a greasy, crunchy spot. Today's menu at home was a milestone---to surprise my DH, I figured out how to turn on the gas grill and had hamburgers and sweet potato fries ready for him when he came in from the field.

You gussied up for the fair? I looked like I was going running...I even wore a fanny pack. No fashion when it comes to 100 degree weather!
And would you believe, I didn't see a soul I know! I was sure that since I looked so crappy I'd see every mean girl I've known since kindergarten...lol.

Since you typed a question mark, I'll answer. Yes, I gussied up for the fair. It might help to explain it was an evening concert with dancing and an adult-beverage tent located near a grandstand stage. Northern Minnesota evenings are cool so my caked-on makeup stayed perfectly in place. A night out with the husband--a rarity so I gave hick, farm fashion all I had.
some eating on the run today (otherwise, I wouldn't be having two protein shakes and a Quest bar!). Fifteen months out
Breakfast: Greek yogurt with strawberries & cantaloupe
Morning snack: protein shake
Lunch: Quest bar
Afternoon snack: protein shake
Dinner: probably a cup of homemade shrimp & okra gumbo (no rice)
