What's on your Sunday Menu, RNYers?

Hi everyone, I hope you all are having a great weekend! We had an awesome day yesterday. The play was hilarious, and the walk by the ocean was soul-cleansing...ahhhh. Today it is going to be 96 will full humidity, but heading to the Country Fair, nonetheless. This fair is practically in the backyard of where I grew up and I have only missed it once in 42 years! It's also a little like a HS reunion, so it will be interesting to see people with the weight fully off. I'm pretty sure I am actually thinner than I was for most of HS!
QOTD: Let's talk mid-way Fair food. NONE of it is good for us, but you must have a favorite! I am traditionally a fried dough girl, but I had some at the last fair I went to, and it made me feel queasy enough that I don't think I want to try it again. Cotton candy? Fried Twinkies? Fried ice cream? Name your (actual) poison!
B: Protein Coffee
S: Mr. Cheese Os
L: There is usually a BBQ truck at the fair, so I hope for some pulled chicken!
S: probably something terrible...LOL
D: either a hamburger or coconut chicken

One thing about fair food, as opposed to food at a ball game or something similar-- fair food is fresh. They make it right in front of you. At other large venues, it's partly cooked ahead of time and reheated. If we're going to have crappy food, crappy food cooked fresh is preferable.
I had a deep fried Reese's cup at the last fair. It's my new favorite thing.
Remember. If you want fried dough, you have to earn it.

Morning! I've been on my run and to target; now doing laundry and relaxing.
So yesterday we went to the new Philadelphia Temple for the Church of Ladder Day Saints. The Temple is beautiful- and it was nice to learn the history of thier Temple's and thier prominence to thier faith. Not to offend anyone here who may be if the faith-- while its beautiful it seem a little sterile. I feel like I'd be more concerned about keeping the temple pristine than feeding my spirit. I didn't realize getting to see it was such a big deal-- it closed to non members after the initial open houses.
My stomach has been carrying on something awful lately, like when I was newly post op. No pain- but its even caught hubby's attention. He said is sounded like a semi-clogged S drain LOL.
Qotd: sadly, I've never had fried Oreos, twinkies or any of the other oddly yummy fair foods I hear people speak of. I've had funnel cake- but fried doesn't sit nice with me. I was able to tolerate some funnel cake with strawberry compote and whip cream, but not much of it.

It is fun to see people you haven't seen in a long time. It can be a bit overwhelming. Or it can be insulting also. Just by the way someone says something to you.
Have a great time. Drink lots of water.
Sausage and peppers are my go to at fairs or the boardwalk. I really never gotten food at a fair really. Since they were at the end of summer and the bees were out. I am afraid of getting stung.
B:Bottled water and a yogurt
L:It's so hot I don't know what to eat. Not hungry. I will have a protein shake maybe
D:Fish tacos
S:Yogurt and strawberries
Going grocery shopping later. It is so hot. I hate to complain. It doesn't make things better.
Happy Sunday! Have fun at the fair, stay hydrated!! Today we will head to church in a little bit and then hopefully replacing our chest freezer. Ours is old, huge and uses a ton of electricity so it's time to find something smaller and more energy efficient.
QOTD: The amazing cinnamon rolls topped with cream cheese frosting and walnuts. Warm gooey goodness. I know I couldn't handle one now but I can at least enjoy the smell.
Menu for today: latte and shake for breakfast, lunch will be leftover steak salad from last nights dinner, snacks in the afternoon will be a latte, yogurt, pepperonie stick and pork rinds. I am planning on spinach crust pizza for dinner. Water and vits on track and exercise was my 6 mile run at the gym.
Hope everyone has a great day!
What is a protein coffee? I am feeling a bit sad about giving up coffee after surgery... This sounds promising!

There are a million different brands of protein flavored shakes. I make mine mixed with decaf coffee in the morning. No reason you can't have regular coffee post op, though. I choose to do this most days because I can use the help upping my protein numbers...but others here had their first cup of coffee in the hospital before they were released.

In the hospital!!! My information book from my surgeon says coffee is a diuretic and they don't want me having coffee because it is difficult enough to stay hydrated. Hope lives on, I guess ;)
I got full test coffee in my first tray at the hospital after surgery.... No decaf here....

Caffeine isn't a diuretic. That myth has been debunked by several scientific studies.
