Almost surgery time
I am new to posting on this site but have been reading posts and learning from others experiences on this site for a couple of months. It has proven to be a great tool and place for real experiences, honest experiences, and a wealth of support for others.
I'm scheduled for RNY on 8/15/16. I'm currently in my 3 day pre-op liquid diet phase. I was concerned that I hadn't done something correctly as I had a couple of "last meals" this past week and didn't have a 2 week diet like some I've read about. Hopefully that isn't much of a concern.
I look forward to sharing my experiences as I get to the post-op side of this and begin my healing process and new, healthy lifestyle. I'm scared but excited. Here's to growing and sharing together moving forward!
I'm not losing weight, I'm getting rid of it!!! I have no intention of finding it again!
Thank you and I'm wishing you the best on Monday. On to a weekend of cleansing and liquids!
Welcome, and good luck with your surgery on Monday!
The loser's bench is a great place to be, even if it's tough at times. There's a wealth of knowledge around here, and the Vets will definitely help you out!
I like your quote, by the way!

Good luck Monday and keep us posted! Surgeons are very different. I didn't have to do any pre-op liquid diet or a bowel cleanse! I thought it was weird but all went well. Look forward to seeing you on the loser's bench!

Thank you! I was a little concerned that I had messed up and was worried about my surgery getting cancelled. There are so many different pre-op and post-op plans and diets. As long as it goes well I am happy!
Before my surgery my doc had me do a two week plan that was designed to reduce the size of my liver to allow him safer/easier access to the parts he was going to need to get to. Not every surgeon does that depending on the method/style/technique of surgery they each do and not every patient needs it depending on your physiology and shape. As long as you did whatever the doc told you to do, you will be all good!
Best wishes and enjoy the journey.
