I'm still in the hospital...
Aww! I am so sorry to hear this! No one hopes to start of this way. When they were going over my discharge papers they told me if I did not get in at least 64 oz in each day I had to call the dr. the following day because I would be on my way to dehydration. I did not want to go back in the hospital (this is what he said they would do) so I forced it down. I did not worry about the protein at 1st as long as the fluids were getting in. I had a bottle of water in every room including the bathroom. I am obsessive compulsive that way. It was gohis will all be behind you soon, Sweetie! Yuing down! LOL!
You can do this because you have to do this. It is not optional and there are no other alternatives except to land back where you are.
I was a big water drinker prior to surgery but it was tuff for the 1st month. Only room temp water would go down and only small amounts at a time but I got it done and you will to! We are all here to encourage you and the last post you maed drew an enormous amount of suggestions so gather them all up and try 'em 1 by 1. This will all be behind you soon, Sweetie. You'll see.
I'm sorry you are having a rough time.
Drink one drop at a time. You can do that much. That's the way it will go in with an IV if you don't.

Prayers that you will get over this hump soon. Like everyone else has said...just drink 1 drop or sip at a time. Remember SF Popsicles count as fluid also....maybe that will help. I love my SF Popsicles! Keep trying until you find that one way that helps you get you fluids in. {{{{{Hugs}}}}}}

Nothing Tastes as Good as Healthy Feels!
I had a rough time of it in the beginning and turned out I had multiple blockages caused by my body healing too fast (scar tissue causing twisting in the intestine then growing shut. The upper GI found the problem for me... could there be an issue in the lower GI, I wonder? Even though they don't do surgery there, all the knock out drugs and pain meds will do a number on your bowel. In any case, keep trying to get fluids in, keep them down and pass them naturally. Pooping and peeing is important.
