Thank you, I never thought I would consider another surgery eapecially bypass but I have lost and regained plus a ton of times. I am now at a weight where I don't want to leave the house because I am embarrassed about my weight. I can't go places with my children doctors, movies, restaurants because my butt doesn't fit in the chairs. I can't even believe I am saying that out loud. I am just so tired of everyday life in this body that is my prison. I need help! I have done WW, nutrisystem, shakeology, isagenix, deal a meal (way back when), and so many more. I need help. But I am so very afraid of any medical procedure.
Hi Amanda. I am 5'3 " and weighed just about 300lbs. I had sleep apnea, type 2 diabetes and my triglycerides were dangerously high. I had RNY a year ago and I have had ZERO complications. I have lost 127lbs and now weigh between 162 and 165. i still want to lose another 25lbs, but I am completely satisfied with my journey so far. I would have surgery again every month if I had to.
I have heard the horror stories that is the Lap Band and I just want you to know that RNY can be soooo good. I'm always a work in progress, but i love my pouch and I love the way my life has changed.
Hi Amanda. You need to make the decision that is best for you. You've had a bad experience and it has left you hesitant. I thought about it for almost 10 years, before I (with the support of my sister) finally decided this was my only option. It's not easy and it takes work everyday. But, it was the best thing that I've ever done for myself. The cons are not even worth mentioning (for me) because I am finally out of my prison. I feel free... To sit where I want, wear what I want, go where I want... I have the confidence to do anything and everything. I am normal again. And normal feels extraordinary! Best of luck.
