Goal change after last followup visit with surgeon's office

I think you have to do what is comfortable with yourself. I am still overweight. I do plan on losing 15 more pounds. Being almost 3 years out I still feel restrictions. So I am happy about that.
I wouldn't want to do maintenance till my body was ready for it. Like when the honeymoon period is over. The weight loss starts slowing down. It is harder to get it off. But doable.
Do what you need to do.
I am over 50. My doc gave me a goal to be at the 24.9 BMI.. which would be 145.. when eventually I got to that weight 1 year post-op - I was too thin- bones and muscles, and skin.. very low body fat%. Because of that - I went into instant menopause - very bad one..I had to be on HRT, my memory was shot, my mode was horrible, I was weak, depressed and my BS would crash daily...My body had no reserves.
We revised my final goal - based on my age-body -bones and muscles to be 150-155... That is the weight that I look and feel my best.
is 125 good for you ? who knows - you will know when you get to it... is it sustainable? maybe - maybe not.. only time will tell..

I went through menopause a decade ago following a hysterectomy to remove a huge fibroid tumor caused by my obesity. The tumor had basically "eaten" my uterous and both ovaries so all had to go. As I lose the weight what I am experiencing is a renewal of hot flashes as the estrogen stored in my fat cells release. Thankfully, I understand what is going on, otherwise I would be really miserable. Everytime I have a power surge I remind myself that another pound has probably melted away. My memory seems to be improving as I lose weight and I'm much more active and much less depressed. However, should things begin to decline, I will remember your comments.
I at least would set my initial goal at the high end of a normal BMI. Then when you get there take it 5lbs at a time and decide. I used bodyfat testing to help me...you can read about it on my OH Blog.
That being said 10lbs of skin is ridiculous. 6-7 maybe. I had Full Lower Body Lift done - that means front and back = 4 1/2 pounds, Arms and Breasts = one pound, Legs = One pound. Grand total 6 1/2 lbs of skin and I am 5'11" tall....
