What to eat?
which stage are you in? Pureed? Check out The World According to Eggface. Shelly has some amazing recipes, and her ricotta bake is still one of my favorites, though I haven't made it in a while. Now that I'm farther out, I like to add meat to it and eat it like a noodle-less lasagna.
At 1.5 weeks I was just moving onto pureed...
Cottage cheese, protein soups that my doc had in his office for me to purchase. Like Deanna said, the baked ricotta was so amazing to me at that point! Homemade spaghetti sauce that I hit with the hand blender was really good too. Yogurt. I did egg salad, but not everyone that has eggs agree with them, but I do well if it has the mayo in it and not just scrambled. I've heard that if you scramble an egg, to do a soft scramble. black beans with a bit of salsa on top and a smidge of cheese, heated in the microwave... any bean really as long as they aren't high in sugar like baked beans are pretty incredible. Hormel chili. Corn beef hash (but only in the beginning, skip the carbs later out).
Oh I almost forgot my favorite! HUMMUS... fresh is so much better than the packaged at the store, but the packaged will work in a pinch! I think I started sweating hummus out of my pores in the pureed stage! hahaha! just eat it with a spoon... not bread or veggies...
Some people even puree meats, but I couldn't go there.
And of course, the most important thing are your protein shakes!
Hang in there! It's a tough phase, honestly, but you'll get through onto better things soon!
Congratulations on your surgery.
