Gurgling, burping and nausea

i am 4 years out from RNY, been at goal for over 2 years, and the last few months I have struggled with lots of gurgling, burping and nausea, regardless of what I eat. Is worse in the afternoon and evening. Bariatric surgeon doesn't seem interested in what may be going on, but I'm really getting tired of it. Have lost about 5-6 pounds in the past month and really don't want to lose anymore. It is also affecting my work, as I am a home health nurse and will have burping for hours after even a tiny meal. Any idea what could be going on? Thanks!

Here's an idea for you if you old enough to qualify for insurance-covered, recommended colonoscopy at age 50 or earlier if there is a family history.  If you are due for a colonoscopy, you might request having your burping/nausea problem checked at the same time-- doctors are willing to perform an endoscopy in addition to your colonoscopy.  It's a way to find out if you have developed something like an ulcer or hernia. It's also nice to "kill two birds with one stone."

You might try some papaya enzymes after a meal or snack - as they help with digestion.  I find that helps some.

I also use essential Oils (Young Living) on my belly for nausea.

On bad nausea days - I just have liquids - protein drinks or protein powder in greek unflavored yogurt (I use sugar free syrups to add flavor.)

I don't do anything for the gurgling - it is an every day occurrence.

I'm 7+ years out from my RNY.
