Costco Rotisserie Chicken or not?
I haven't tried the Costco rotisserie chicken, but I have tried the local supermarket version. The extra ingredients wouldn't bother me, especially the sodium.
There is one member here that is highly allergic to potatoes and potato starches, such as in this chicken. They would get pretty sick from this.

Time to bust out the science on that "stuff!"
- Sodium phosphate is a common salt, pretty much like table salt. The FDA identifies it as GRAS-- "generally regarded as safe." Don't eat a TON of it, but there's not much more of it in here than there would be anywhere else, like in canned tuna.
- Food starch and potato dextrin-- this is basically like cornstarch, but the potato instead of corn means that it can be raised to a higher temperature without getting clumpy. It's used as thickener, probably to keep the grease drippings from getting too slippery. Potato is a "resistant starch," and unlike cornstarch shouldn't affect bloodsugar.
- Carrageenan is a kind of fiber made from seaweed. It's an emulsifier that keeps fat and water from separating. The World Health Organization puts it in the category of safest food additives, saying that there's zero evidence that it poses a health hazard.
- Sugar, dextrose (a different type of sugar), and spices are most likely harmless, especially in the amounts in one serving of chicken. You'd end up with the same amount of ingredients if you used a pre-packaged spice mix from the grocery store.
My (non-medically-trained) verdict? This is probably about as safe as you're going to find for a pre-packaged dinner. :)

VSG 2013, RNY conversion 2019 due to GERD. Trendweight here!
I'm pre-op. So I probably don't have a clue lol but at my nutrition class the dietitian said we don't have to worry too much about salt because we are eating so little. I don't know about once we get to maintenance and I do know that past diets - too much salt tends to interfere with my weight loss.
I personally do not like the Costco chicken. It has a weird taste and texture. I'm absolutely positive that if you like it, it's way better than a lot of choices .
RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.

Losing the regain! I got this!

I do NOT eat chicken. Accidentally scrolled on Facebook into a full fledged PETA video. I used to love Costco chickens. I don't see the harm in them. It's protein.
