What does no 3lb weights mean? Is that too heavy or not heavy enough? I'm curious!

To build muscle mass, you have to do progressive weight training --  I leg lift 220 pounds and overhead shoulder pull 115 pounds ( I have been in weight training for about 2 years - since before I had WLS).  (I am on hiatus because I;m recovering from UBL and can;t wait until  can get back).

Unfortunately weight training is not a likely option for me.  I have 4 herniated disks in my back a frozen shoulder and a knee replacement.  I don't know how to work around that stuff.  Maybe a trainer could? I'd love more muscle mass.  I don't think my Dr using that test since he has never spoken of it.  I don't care what it takes I'm not staying fat it's so close I can see it!

You clearly eating more that you body need to keep losing. Or..the wrong things.

Some processed food - like protein bars, RTD shakes, take outs, etc - may have more real calories than advertised. I was eating relatively low calories but I ate a lot of " manufactured" foods and I was gaining.

Last few years I switched to mostly real food (lots of homemade real food meals and snacks) and I lost all my regain. I eat more calories that I ate before (i think, I stoped measuring)  and I don't have a lot of cravings.. I am very mindful about what I eat. Proteins and non starchy veggies, nuts, some berries...dark chocolate is my dessert of I want any.

I don't drink milk or eat yogurt (too much sugar plus dairy allergies) .

But...I was eating like that for 3 months or so (counting and measuring - no more that 1000 cal per day) before my body started  let go of the stored fat. My daily calories now are app 1500 ..but my goal is 152-155..so that is what my body need. I needed to eat 500 cal less than my goal maintnace calories (maintnance :150 x10=1500) to be able to lose slowly... Plus it had to be correct food.

If your goal is 120 - then your maintnace will be 1000-1200..specially with bad back and knee issue... So to lose you may need to lower the calories to 800 or less to be able to lose 0.5-1 lb a week. And stick to it... Day after day, week after week even when you don't see results right away..

I was wondering if maybe the 5 day meat test would

get you losing again. I don't know how to post a link but type in 5 day meat test in the search bar . It works .

You've gotten some good advice above. I have a few other suggestions for you.

We all get a little burned out after a while. After surgery we think about this stuff every minute of every day. It's wearisome. You used to post here pretty much every day, until about 7 months ago -- which is when your weight loss stopped. I think you just got a little burned out.

Start posting again. Every day. I know the menu thread peeps will be glad to see you. Get your head back in the game. That will help you keep a closer eye on what and how much you've been eating.

You've done great so far. Renew your concentration, and you can rwach your goal.

I'm 5'4" and not very active (more active then when I weighed 245, but I'm sure not running marathons or working out at the gym). I'm losing slowly when I eat about 800 calories a day (give or take 10-20) and keep my carbs under 40 grams a day AND drink lots and lots of water (about 80 to 100 oz a day). If I eat over (calories or carbs) I either gain or remain the same. And if I fail to drink my water, I lose nothing even if I eat right.
