cant tolerate protein drinks and I'm starving!!!
I had nausea with protein shakes as well. I did a lot of trial and error and found the only protein shakes that don't make me sick are Vega protein mixed in lactose-free milk and Muscle Milk chocolate shakes (the other flavours don't make me physically sick, but the flavours themselves make me want to barf). For some reason, regular milk was making me sick. I can drink it fine now, 5 months post-op, but only for the last month or so. Before that it was all lactose-free.
Premier protein shakes, whey protein powder, and soy protein powder all make me sick.

You still have a lot of swelling and you only have a 4 oz pouch. It may be weeks before you get the required amounts in. Don't sacrifice you water now trying to get in all the protein. Remember there is 24 hours in a day. There are lots of good tasting proteins. I am a fan of Costcos vanilla. The chocolate is good as well. Nectar makes a very good protein as well.

don't worry so much about getting all of your protein in at this point, focus on the water/fluid intake. Feeling hungry all of the time can actually be thirst. If you get dehydrated you will feel horrible. Push the liquids and work on getting the protein up slowly. You won't be able to get in all of it for a while yet.
