I am 9 days out from surgery and I think I've had a total of 8 protein shakes in that time. I'm having a terrible time getting these drinks in. I'm also having a hard time drinking enough, I'm all around frustrated. I feel hungry all the time. I'm on puréed foods now being in my second week but I don't think I can eat enough yogurt and oatmeal to get enough proteins, anyone have suggestions on how to increase my protein intake? Eggs maybe, even though I'm still in puréed stage? Cheese? Anything?? Thanks in advance!

Have you tried putting Unjury unflavored into you yogurt? Also, Unjury chicken soup might work.

No I haven't, I'm not sure what that is. Is it some type of protein powder?

I'm new at this as well. I'll be 9 weeks on Monday. Be patient it will get easier. Staying hydrated is your job right now. Water SF jello. Maybe try a different protein drink. I didn't care for the first one I tried. As for being starving all the time, maybe this is the head hunger yourfeeling. Maybe a walk would help get your mind off food. Good luck, we can do this.

You're not alone. I had a similar experience. Water hurt, so I had Popsicles. I wasted tons of money on protein and hated all of them. I finally found unflavored protein powder. It has a taste; but I used it in Greek yogurt, pudding, soup, and (my favourite****d decaf coffee. It was the only way for me to get any protein at the beginning. It's temporary. It will get better. Just keep making yourself drink. And move. I also felt hunger. I was miserable. But, getting the protein in, made all the difference for me. Best of luck! Stick to the plan.

Hi! I'm 8 days post op and I get where you're coming from for the most part. I thought I was prepared for the second week and now I feel like I have no idea what to eat. I've had tuna and avacdo and eggs puréed of course and I thought I'd be able to have yogurt cheese and cottage cheese but my Dr said no dairy right now my book I have says no oatmeal either.  It's pretty frustrating. Hope things get better for you.
