12 days post op - ate 2oz of grilled chicken

I will respectfully disagree with the above posters.  Chew the hell out of the chicken (and NOTHING else) and it's practically puree.  I am not saying do this daily,  I am saying that in a pinch, it will work.

I don't think the danger is the chicken itself. I think the danger is giving in to urges and cravings, and going off plan after only 12 days. Chicken does not have magical restorative powers the OP is giving it. What is magic is developing new habits and eating patterns, fighting urges, and getting to goal -- things you yourself have done.

I HAVE heard of magic turkey, but not chicken.

When I think about the ShamWow guy, all I can remember is his arrest for beating up a prostitute.

Not sure if this helps or not but Im 23 days out and My surgeon's instructions are days 1-15 are full fluids - which is  decaffeinated drinks,  sugar free popsicles, protein shakes, sugar free jello and pudding, skim milk or 1%, strained low fat cream soups, yogurt (runny not greek), soft tofu, broths. from days 15-24 I have be able to add v8 juice, unsweetened apple sauce, mashed cottage cheese, runny cream of wheat or runny oatmeal.  Day 25- 44 is pureed foods Same as full fluid but adding smooth low fat ricotta cheese, greek yogurt, pureed cooked veg and fruit without skin or seeds, and pureed chicken turkey or fish, pureed legumes, poached eggs (chewed very well) NO nuts, seeds tough skins or dried fruits.  limit added fats, oils and sugars and spicy foods.  At 3 months I can slowly introduce raw fruits and veg.  No popcorn until 6 months. Anyway, just a guideline for you.  For the first 6 weeks they recommend 90 - 100 grams of protein to promote healing. So Im adding protein powder to everything including the protein drinks.  Also, Im still only allowed 1/2 cup at a time and to eat slowly, so basically it takes me about 45 mins to eat 1/2 cup.   Good luck on your journey.  Congrats on the 40lbs down.  Thats amazing.
