What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Happy Monday everyone! AV, hope you get your sleep issue worked out. I haven't had a really good sleep pattern since law school where I developed the habit of functioning on very little sleep. It's the pits and sometimes I wish I could get more, but I think my body has adapted. So I was able to transition to the next phase in my food plan and am on "chopped" foods. I'm now able to add chicken, turkey, beef, etc. as long as its cut into really small pieces. Today is a big day, I'm trying to get all my protein from food without relying on a shake. We'll see how it goes. So far, I've been able to tolerate chicken, shrimp, and lobster. Trying my beloved ground turkey pesto and cheese today. Hope it goes well.
KQOTD: Hmmmm, such a difficult question. I didn't eat sweets a lot (Like I never just went and grabbed cookies for example) but when I did . . . So, your brownie sundae sounds great, but I guess my all time favorite is a cake from a bakery called Sweet Lady Jane. They make a white chocolate raspberry cake that is crazy good. I'd probably pick that!
Time since surgery: 2 years, 2 months or 4 weeks and 3 days, depending on how I'm counting
B: ground turkey, cheese and pesto; Skinny vanilla latter
L: Chicken thigh meat, 1 tbs hummus
D: Chicken thigh meat, squash
S: Dannon light and fit
Totals: Cal: 758; Protein: 82g; Fat: 29g; Carbs: 34g
Happy Monday all! I hope everyone had a good weekend, mine was about 12 days too short. I'm trying to get everything unpacked and be ready at work before surgery on Wednesday, and it's all tough to handle when you're feeling like ****
That was really all I did, unpacked a few boxes, hung up some clothes and worked in my kitchen, went to Costco, all that fun stuff. I need to get the oil changed in my car and a manicure and pedicure before surgery. My hands are in terrible shape and my feet look like I've been swooping down and catching dinner out of the lake - yikes. I'm sitting here now, about to doze off at my desk, I slept and feel awful.
I noticed the phrase "Mary's Gone Crackers" mentioned here a few times and found and picked up a box at Costco, they are so yummy, especially for a cracker lover like me. You guys are the best! You can, however, have the bag of Mr. Cheese Os I got. I hate to buck the trend here, but those things are nasty. Worst aftertaste ever.
My meals are unplanned and not the best. So many things make me sick right now, like dairy. I ate a bit of banana and a couple of Mary's Gone Crackers this morning, I'm not sure what the afternoon will hold, I have some wonton soup and a dill pickle with me, and some chicken salad.
QOTD: I'm all about the Pizookie from BJs, that warm, gooey cookie and melted ice cream. The Oreo Dream Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory and and anything chocolate cake.
AV, I'm glad they're going to do something about your lack of sleep, sleep deprivation will kill you and has all kinds of terrible side effects.

I will happily trade you a box of Mary's Gone for Mr. Cheese Os!
