Drinking alcohol
No I didn't drink at 7 1/2 weeks! Why would you want to? Do you want to eat a Twinkie too? It is lots of sugar, empty calories, and not on your plan. You will only sabotage yourself and your plan to lose weight. You need to use the first 6 MONTHS to lose as much as possible because you will not get a do over. This is the time to drop all of your excess weight. Follow your plan. It is hard but you will be glad you did it!

I am 4 months post-op and will occasionally have a bloody mary or a glass of red wine. If I get a bloody I ask for top shelf vodka that has been distilled many times so that it will be easier for my liver to process. The alcohol definitely takes effect quickly so be very careful and drink slowly. Also-- do not drive---even after one drink because your blood alcohol level will likely be over .08. I wouldn't drink beer or anything else carbonated or sugary. Count the calories you have consumed. I would also keep in mind the advice and warnings of the other posters but when/if you decide to try it, just be careful and mindful of the risks.

Best answer? The best answer is just don't. Especially in that first year, much less the first two months. There are 100 great reasons not to. The only rwason to drink is "Because I want to." You know, the same excuse that got us morbidly obese.
I can't even count the number of post WLS people I have seen whose lives have been ruined by transfer addiction to alcohol. Your "jeesh" means nothing next to someone that ruined their life.
If you think this is an overreaction, think again. Transfer addiction is real. If someone can't control themselves for 8 weeks after surgery, they've got a really hard road ahead of them.
I'd rather **** someone off a little bit than see them make perhaps the biggest mistake of their life.

Trust me don't start drinking. It will stop the weight loss. You will think you are in a stall but actually you are not.
I am an alcoholic. I thought I could handle my booze after surgery. There is transfer addiction. But I know I was an alcoholic before. I am not saying you are.
At 7 and a half weeks it is not a good thing to do. I know I could have lost a lot more weight when I was in my honeymoon period. I did lose 143 pounds. But I still have about 20 more to go.
I really do not want to post my whole story you can do a search on alcohol and it should pop up. When I stopped drinking I lost 20 pounds.
Calories alone make it not worth it. Your dignity makes it not worth it also.
Being in good health is so worth it.
I honestly miss having fun nights out with some drinks but the weight loss to me is worth it. Ive seen a friend who had the surgery 6 years ago gain almost all of her weight back just going out drinking up all those calories.
