Chipotle-- I get a bowl with meat, extra black beans, fajita veggies, salsa, cheese and lettuce. The give you a ton so I split it up into small containers to take for lunches during the week.  I never get sick of Chipotle so I don't mind eating it several days in a row!!!

I was really tired too so I added an extra iron supplement which has seemed to help a lot.

I didn't have salads for at least 4 months. I started by ordering a shrimp or chicken tostada if I was out and then I would eat all of the protein and a few lettuce leaves. Evenutally, you can eat more salad, but you should have the protein first, which doesn't usually leave much room for lettuce.  All of the suggestions I have seen posted are great. Chickfila grilled nuggets are great. I usually order the kids meal and get the fruit salad for my side. It is a small bit of fruit and a nice treat that I save and eat about an hour or two after I eat the nuggets.

Just ask for what you want at any restaurant.  They are usually so accomodating.  Italian restaurants seem to be the hardest, and I avoid them if at all possible, but sometimes we have a planned work event at one. I just ask the server if they can grill shrimp or scallops for me with no sides. They have done it for me every time. Also, BJ's will grill some shrimp for you too and it was only like 5.99 or something. Just tell them what you need.  It is better to not even look at the menu, just figure out something you like and ask the server for help.  Nibbling beef jerky throughout the day helped me with my energy level in those early months. Just chew chew chew.

Good luck.

I feel tired as well. My surgery was May 24th. I used to be quite active but since surgery I lack serious motivation. I started doing yoga again but when I come home from work I usually feel beaten and just want to sink down on the couch. Getting up early in the morning? I feel so tired...

I hope this will get better soon. I feel like almost all strength from my abdominal wall is gone (it's only recently that I don't notice any weird feelings in the regions where the wounds were) and in general I still have a feeling of being tired. I can't remember feeling like this after the band removal surgery in Februar.

I was very tired for a while but upped my B12 to five days a week and I feel much better. Maybe some of the vets can weigh in on the B12 thing?

Are you taking iron, either in your multi or separately? If your iron is low, that could be causing your tiredness. A B12 deficiency could also cause it.

Did you have labs drawn pre-surgery? If so, what were your levels? If you were low on one or both pre-op, that could be why, and if you aren't taking extra B12 or iron, you may need to start. If you didn't have labs done right before surgery, you should get a full panel done to see what's going on. Some surgeons only check labs every 6 months ( like mine ), so my first and second years out, I went to PCP at 3,9, 15 and 21 months out so I could keep track of my levels.

In short, if I were you, I'd talk to my surgeon, them what is going on, and TELL them, not ask, you want a full panel of labs drawn. If your surgeon won't do it, go to your PCP and tell them the same.

Vitamin levels, and trends, are something we need to keep track of, so if our levels do dip too low, we can nip it in the bud ASAP. ( and conversely, sometimes levels get too high. My D level went too high, so I backed off on my dosage somewhat. )

I get copies of my labs and keep them so I can compare and look and see any up or down trends, and if need be, adjust accordingly.

I woke up in between a memory and a dream...
