Approved! Head hunger and time out
I'm a college student, so I was happy to get mine done in the beginning of July so that I can be recovered for the fall semester.
What is your typical school day like? Do you have planning periods or "off periods?" I know my high school teachers had one lunch period, one planning period, and some had an extra free period for study hall.
Not sure what your schedule is like, but your healing really depends on you. Some people bounce back quickly, and some people need six weeks of time off.
I work in retail on my feet all day, and I went back after three weeks.
I'm not a teacher (lawyer with a definite office job), but I agree. You need enough time to set new routines, but more importantly it will be the fatigue that will get you. I'm 4 weeks out from revision to RNY and I missed a total of 8 days of work (the day of my surgery, one full week and 3 days of the second week) Last week was my first full week back and by Friday, I was exhausted. I slept through my alarm (woke up almost 2 hours late) ran out of the house and had to come up with a menu on the fly. I can't nap during the day, but by the time I get home and get through everything I need to do every night (cook, clean, deal with the dog, etc.) I fall asleep on the couch watching TV. It's only going to get worse for me next week since, I've been cleared for exercise and I typically hit the gym after work. f I could figure out a way to get more rest, I'd be golden.
Good luck!!!
Doesn't look like I'll be able to have the surgery over the summer. By the time the insurance approved it the surgeon was boo****il September! I feel guilty taking time off during the year but I just can't keep this band in for another entire school year.
