Hello, I am looking for feedback from folks who had Dr. Osvaldo Anez as their bariatric surgeon in recent years.  I saw him yesterday for my consultation.  I've also posted this question on the Virginia page.  THANK YOU!

Yes but what I came across was old--like between 2002-2012.  I am concerned about a couple things.  When I entered Dr Anez' office he was sitting behind a large desk and he did not stand up to greet me.  He also did not stand up when we shook hands or when I got up to leave at the end of the appointment.  Is he himself physically up for doing these surgeries now?  The office also had files everywhere, left me alone in a room with a BP cuff on my forearm,  and were very casual about my copay amount and where to put the cash.  Dr Anez' briefing was good and he seemed to be confident but I got a weird vibe overall.  Does not mesh with his rave reviews I see.

Hmmm, then it sounds like he and his office failed your interview. You get those feelings for a reason. I would go have a consult with another surgeon and see how you feel.

I am in NOVA and my surgeon was Dr. Fitzer. He was man enough to stand up to SkinnyScientist's bossy brash personality to defend the surgery he thought was best.

Try him. He is Virginia Bariatric in Reston.

Find another surgeon who makes you feel comfortable.  

I don't have any feedback on him, but I highly recommend Dr. Moazzez at Fair Oaks. He was fantastic. I also have two friends who used him as well and we all had positive experiences. I even had complications, that were not his fault and he was great in my second surgery and he also removed my gallbladder. If you are not comfortable seek another consultation.
