What's On Your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
Good Morning Everyone!
QOTD: I have a kindle, but I still like the feel of a book in my hands.
What I ate yesterday was: A Clif protein bar, 1/2 serving of meatloaf, moon cheese, Oikos yogurt, 1/2 serving of meatloaf, 1/2 cup frozen yogurt, 14 almonds, a Clif protein bar.
Going on a road trip with a friend of mine today. We are going out to lunch so I hope we go someplace where I can find something healthy to eat. I will bring along some Moon cheese and maybe a protein bar so I have some healthy choices in the car.
Have a great day everyone!
~ Karen
Thanks for starting us off, Melissa! I was just thinking about doing it, but then I didn't want it to turn into thing where 3 of us end up doing it all at the same time and then there is post-confusion.
QOTD: When I read, I tend towards hard copy books, unless I'm travelling, then I go e. But I have to admit, these days I'm much more likely to be listening to a book than reading it - I just can't seem to stay awake LOL. I'm obsessed with Overdrive and Hoopla for downloadable and streaming stuff through the library. Ob-sessed.
I'm taking an impromptu day off tomorrow and running away "downtheshore" as we say here in Philly. My sister and the girls are going to stay at a friend's shore house today through Thursday and she was trying to get me to come. I kept saying "I have to work. I have to work." but then I looked at my calendar and realized I have NO MEETINGS tomorrow aaaand I worked on Saturday, so I don't feel guilty about a mid-week day off! I'm going to drive down tonight after rush hour, spend the day tomorrow, and head home tomorrow after babies' bedtime - yippee!

Boo!
We're lucky here in the Philly area, only 1.5 hours to get downtheshore. And I'm even annoyed about that extra 30 minutes that it takes now that I live in the suburbs LOL.

Not all libraries but many, MANY do. We have one service called Overdrive, which is downloadable ebooks and audiobooks. You check out an item, download it to your device, and then after the loan period is done, it basically disappears from your device. Then we also have Hoopla, which is a streaming service - it includes music, tv shows, movies, comic books, audio books, and traditional ebooks. This one is a little newer and less common a service.
You should definitely check with your local library - it could save you a ton! We have 10s of thousands of items available through our digital collections.

PS. I'm literally buying ebooks as we speak for my library's Overdrive collection.
