Slow weight loss
I know everyone complains about slow weight loss, but I'm loosing my mind. I had RNY 5/19 which almost 10 weeks out and have only lost 30lbs. So weeks I loose 1-2lbs and other weeks I don't loose at all. I have no idea what too do, I tried increasing my fluids and protein, increasing calories but to no avail nothing is working.
Any suggestions?
I'm right there with you. I've lost 35ish pounds since 5/2. But I'm losing and I'm not gaining. I don't think we can expect to lose more than about 10 pounds a month and that about my average. We just need to adjust our expectations a bit.
The veterans here all say : you didn't gain it overnight, you won't lose it overnight.

How is increasing calories going to help you lose weight? You want to burn calories, and eating more just slows that down even further.
Get your protein and a little bit of fat. Keep your calories and carbs as low as you can. And then be patient.

Starvation mode is a load of crap. We all had a ton of extra calories we were carrying around as fat.
You NEED protein, fa****er, and vitamins. Any extra calories beyond that is just going to slow down your weight loss.
Keep calories as low as you can, and you'll reach your goal. Just don't worry about daily and weekly fluctuations. It will not be a straight line.

Grim Traveller, Boy Hag,
Just curious, what does "fa****er mean?

Apparently, you have your 'adult' setting on OH turned on. It will block anything it believes is a naughty word.
In my post, I wrote "f-a-****e-r", obviously without the hyphens. Even though it wasn't naughty, and part of two words, OH censored out the "****" in the middle of my post.

Bumping up calories for a "short time" can increase the rate of weight loss. I didn't think so in the beginning but my nutritionist kept saying your not eating enough until finally I listened. I would bump up the intake with an extra shake or adding a protein bar for a couple of days then go back to my "regular" routine and wouldn't you know, the scale would start moving, also I would make sure that I was getting enough fluids in. Have I had stalls along the way? Sure have but 172lbs lost in 11 months I must have been doing something right! I usually eat 500-700 calories (since the beginning) a day but have now changed it to a goal of 1000 daily.
