Can't Eat!!!
Hello Everyone,
I have been reading and not really posting for the past 2 years. I had my RNY August 2010.
Just wanted to know if anyone is going through this.
I had an Endoscopy done on this past Saturday because whatever I eat hurts my stomach. My doctor said everything looked fine. BUT states that from this point forward, I must eat all vegetables in soup form and fruits blended as a smoothie. She said fish will digest okay because its easy to break down.
This morning I ate oatmeal and an egg for breakfast, tuna for lunch and I attempted to eat a protein cookie for snack and it hurts soo bad. I am taking Carafate, Protonix, and Donnatal.
Has anyone gone through this or is going through this? Not a good way to live RIGHT.
But why did he give you those instructions about how to eat going forward? What did he see that made him decide this was necessary?? Based on what your taking it sounds like you have an ulcer...
he says fish is ok, but what about red meat, chiken etc??

I honestly think its an ulcer because she stated that they did a biopsy on the findings. She may have said it was an ulcer but I was still sleepy. She stated that red meat was vet heavy and fish, tuna and chicken really moist is better to eat.
I called her today and left a message because I think red meat has protein that we need in it. I can honestly say that I do feel yucky when I eat ground meat or steak.
I've had 2 endoscopys already for 2 strictures. I really don't understand why they think you will remember what they tell you when you're still half out of it.
First, I would definitely ask you're doctor to clarify their instructions. If they took a biopsy the area is probably inflamed so maybe they want you on liquids/easily digested food for a bit until it heals.
Try going back to slider foods until you hear back from your doc.
