Good morning Karen and gang! I had a pretty bad eating day yesterday.  I tried,  but failed when i bought a bag of Chocolate filled pretzel combos.  Yeah. Then we toured the chocolate factory Rebecca Ruth Chocolates, and picked up some chocolates.

I have realized that i DO dump on sugar. If i eat protein with it,  I'm mostly fine.  If i eat candy on an empty stomach i feel very icky, very quickly.

So here's what i ate yesterday.

Breakfast burrito coffee with cream and splenda

1/2 a bag of combos

2 slices of roast beef around a light cheese stick

Chocolates,  licorice and a nice bit of dumping

1/2 a salad with blue cheese and the insides of a roast beef and cheese sandwich

Popcorn at the hotel.

And this morning:

1 egg, 1.5 pieces of bacon,  a slice of tomato and a slice of raisin toast at Waffle house.  Coffee with cream and splenda.

I am realizing the perils of driving long distances with a toddler,  uggh. He was so cranky yesterday.  Thank God he fell asleep just now.

Deanna I've noticed the same. If I have suagr on an empty stomach I feel icky. If I've had something else prior it doesn't hit me as hard. And m eating yesterday sucked- but I expected no different. I think I made an equal # of bad and good choices.

I'll have the chocolate, with a side of dumping and misery please.

Hey All! Yep Karen, you were right... too much fun last night with Daze and I was exhausted this morning! As I am sure you all can imagine Daisy and her hubby are a great! We had a wonderful time getting to know each other and then last night we went to a crazy minor league game. First it was delayed for crazy thunderstorms (I heard maybe a tornado warning, too?). And then we had TWO delays during the second inning for TWO skunks wandering onto the field. And, yes, one of them sprayed! :)

What did I eat, you wonder?? Well for breakfast I just had a handful of nuts. For lunch we found a BBQ place and I had pulled chicken (yum!). At the ballpark I had a hockey puck of a hamburger, and two bites of fried dough. I started feeling really ill by the end of the game, and I think it may have been the dry hamburger sitting in my pouch. Yuck.

I told Daisy that I have been saving my calories for a month in anticipation for tonight's dinner!! We are going to another BBQ place, but this one is really "high end" owned by Tiffany Faisson from Top Chef. They make a biscuit there that is literally to die for. I am definitely having one! Definitely. The rest of the day is unknown. A trip to a diner for breakfast and ballgame food for lunch...

QOTD: Here is an example...last night at the game, after the storm, the temperature dropped by about 30 degrees and I was freeeeeezing. I went into the gift shop and bought myself some sweatpants to put on. My only problem was finding a pair small enough. It's so nice to feel like you can get your basic needs met by being a "normal" size. Years ago I would not have even tried, and been cold and miserable in place of the the fear that I would not fit into anything and be embarrassed. #iloverny

I hope you have a wonderful week, Karen!

Morning! Enjoy camping Karen!! Had quite a busy time yesterday, played a Board game, took the kids swimming  and bowling.

I've been on my run and am currently waiting for my car to get inspected. I need to take care of somethings online today, and then head to the Apple Store to have them look at/replace my watch.

Please send some thoughts my way- we lost a firefighter yesterday-- this is my first death since starting with my job. I've already been overwhelmed since I'm carrying a lot of roles-- I've been praying there would be no deaths- now bam-- almost unavoidable in this line of work. That along with the Democratic national convention being in the city will have me running at warp speed supporting the uniformed staff. Firefighters are truly a brotherhood and I hate to see such a great men and women lose one of their own.

QOTD: My RNY makes me thankful for my improved health. I'm not as flustered in the high heat, I can walk, run, climb step etc without being out of breath. Life is overall far more carefree.

Time since surgery: 14+months

m1: turkey burgers/cheese

m2: 1oz cheese; 1oz cashews

m3: tilapia, broccoli or salad

m4: maybe quesadilla fillings
