is your heart rate always elevated now? Just curious. After surgery I notice my heart beating faster than it used to before surgery. I've made a note of it and I'm trying to track when it happens. I have a follow up appt on 8/11 so I'll ask the dr. then but just wondering if its the same kind of thing you're experiencing.

Our revision stories are starting to sound a lot alike...
I woke up with a fast heart rate--over 100 resting. It was never like that pre-op. No one knows why and I can't seem to get anyone to care. It's been one year and it's gone just a tiny down a bit, but it's generally over 80 when I'm just sitting and chilling. That can't be normal for an their heathy woman, can it?
The surgeon was NOT helpful or concerned. I'm going for a second opinion to a cardiologist soon. I need to hear it from an expert.

A normal resting heart rate for a woman is 60-100 bpm, so in the 80s doesn't seem to bad, but I would be concerned if it was a change from your norm. My normal resting heart rate is between 43-49, in the hospital, one of the nurses after taking my BP and pulse asked if I would consider myself an athlete. When I asked her why she said her level of panic would depend on my answer. She was concerned that my heart rate is so low. Now, I have periods of time where I can feel it racing a bit. I hope someone takes you seriously, be it your surgeon or a cardiologist and you get to the bottom of the problem!

Pre-op it was in the 50s and 60s, so it's a big change for it to be in the 80s at rest. If I go for a quick walk around the block, it jumps up to 110 with just that teeny bit of movement.

No big plans for the weekend. My daughter comes home from NY today, I miss the kid and will be glad to have he home. I have an appointment with the podiatrist tomorrow, hopefully I will have good results and be able to give the boot to bootymcbootface.
So glad it's Friday, it has been a rather long week, even though I had Monday off and left at noon yesterday. Saw the surgeon yesterday, appointment went well, but damn I hate Boston traffic, it was horrible on the way in and even worse on the way home.
QOTD: I would probably stop at the nearest convenience store or drugstore and buy a protein bar or jerky or even nuts if that was all I could find. Or if on the highway and the only place was a burger place I would get the grilled chicken without the bun.
Photo below of myself and hubby at friend's house last weekend.
