Morning AV and Gang! I've been up since 4am because I had a weird dream that woke me and I couldn't get back to sleep. In my dream, someone got cranky with me for posting something on facebook about my diet and I got angry, so when I woke up I had it on my mind and spent like 45 minutes laying in bed playing out this imaginary argument. Obviously, I'm holding some sort of grudge or something, LMAO!

I'm completely boggled by my body. But this morning I am 1 pound lower than my previous low weight. I'm two weeks away from my 1 year surgiversary and have been struggling mightily. But I'm still losing, albeit slowly. While I complain that I'm struggling, I really haven't been completely horrible, and my calories are staying under 1200-1300 on a bad day. I want to keep to plan and stay under 800. I did stay under 900 yesterday even with my popcorn that I planned to have last night. (I even added a bit of butter to it!), so that's a win for me. Scale this morning said 162.4, I even took a picture. please don't look at the clothes that I stripped off to weigh myself laying on the floor!

It took me a month to lose that pound, since my last logging of my lowest weight was on June 26th. I know I have to do something to kickstart my loss. Going on vacation starting Saturday, so not sure how that will work, lol. I'm taking my laptop, 2 tablets and my phone, so I'm expecting to check in occasionally while we're gone.

KQOTD: before I left my job my bedtime routine was to stay up to about 10 watching TV and then go up and wash my face, brush my teeth and climb into bed. Lately the baby will be going to bed at the same time, so we all go into the bathroom for teeth and washing. Last night I was up playing World of Warcraft until 10:15 and then went up to bed about 10 minutes after my hubby. exciting, huh?

Here's my plan for the day:

2 weeks shy of my 1 year surgiversary

B: 1 egg, 1 serving of center cut bacon and a slice of velveeta. Coffee with full sugar coffeemate (I spluged an used hubby's and it's delicious!)

L: can of tuna with mayo on 35 calorie bread

D: 4oz chicken breast and steamed cauliflower

S: 2oz deli meat and a light cheese stick.

totals

calories 604 protein 80 carbs 31 fat 23

I have some room here for another snack in the evening, but I'm going to be busy all day. I have to drive and pick up something that I'm taking to my cousin in NC this weekend, and then I'm taking both boys for a haircut and gotta clean this house in prep for vacation. Hoping that being out running errands will keep me from overdoing it. hubby is grilling dinner tonight, so I should be fine with dinner, I just have to stay strong tonight and if I do snack it needs to be low carb/protein forward. I have a premeir protein in the fridge, but it's bad because my 2 year old loves them and when I open it he's going to be there chugging half of it, lol.

also, for those who didn't get back to see my hair on the post yesterday, he's a pic of me an my kiddo with my new hair last night:

lmao.  I swear I had a conversation with the stylist yesterday about this very thing.  I joked about this being my mid life crisis haircut, and how my hubby was going to be shocked.  She told me they've had husbands call and tell them that their wives are coming back in because the husband didn't like the hair color, or cut.  One lady came back to get the color of her nails changed, because her hubby didn't like it.

I love my hubby, but I'm going to do what I want with my hair.

he did mention he had to do a double take because he thought I was my oldest son when he came down this morning, LOL!

The short hair looks great, some people can rock it, and you can. Me not do much, so I admire those who can...,

AV, you definitely need some tylenol pm, but take it early as it takes a while to work and it can make you groggy the next day.  Also, stay off the electronics for at least half an hour before bed.  It really does make a difference for me.

Follow up with my surgeon this afternoon, not looking forward to stepping on the scale, I've definitely gained a few pounds the past couple of weeks with not being able to work out like I had been, and also the snacking I have done while putting my feet up.  Not happy with myself about that.

Time since surgery 15 months

B:  1 egg, 1/2 fiber one english muffin

L:  I brought some chicken and some yogurt.  I will probably eat the yogurt before my appointment and just leave the chicken for tomorrow.

D:  ?  Was going to make meatloaf, but forgot to take out the ground turkey, so probably take-out.  There is a restaurant/pub nearby that does takeout and they have really good steak tips.

Good morning! Lack of sleep is tough to put up with, AV - hope you find a routine that helps you sleep through the night or at least adjust to the hours you are able to sleep. I've heard from various unreliable sources (TV, online articles) that an uninterrupted 8 hour stretch of sleep is a learned habit, and that sleeping for 4 hours with a two hour break and then a few more hours of sleep is a more natural pattern, so it is not really a 'problem.' Unfortunately, most of us allocate 6-8 hours for sleep time and an extra two hour break is difficult to accommodate.

QOTD: After drinking a big mug of tea or decaf and often a small snack while watching the 11 o'clock  news, I take the dogs out one last time, take my vitamins/brush my teeth, then snuggle into bed with my eBoo****ep the bedroom cool, dark, and completely uncluttered (the clutter triggers racing thoughts). In summer the dogs prefer to sleep in their (open) crates, and in winter they sleep at my feet like a pair of furry ho****er bottles. I read quietly for as long as it takes for me to fall asleep - anywhere from 15 minutes to two hours. If I wake up at night (not unusual given the big cup of tea), I do NOT let myself think about how tired I will be the next day (mentally go for a stroll through a gentle and beautiful landscape instead) and have come to appreciate the quiet stillness; I am usually able to get some rest, even if it isn't sleep. I do find that keeping regular hours during the week and the weekend (no major sleeping in, but taking a 20 min. catnap  after lunch is okay if i run out of steam) as well as having a cool room are essential for a good sleep.

B: roast pork

L: salmon and avocado

D: chicken thigh

S: roast pork, small nectarine

Due to the upcoming stretch of extremely hot weather, I stayed up late last night to cook some chicken thighs and roast a pork loin. I should be okay for dense protein for the next few days.
