What's On Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Good Morning everyone! It's gonna be a hot one in the 'Cuse today. I'm really regretting not pushing for a new air conditioner because we're looking at a long stretch of 90 degree+ days. Well, actually Matt is going to be regretting not getting a new AC because when I am hot and sweaty I am one cranky ***** Even crankier than usual. LMAO
So, I'm still not sleeping. But what's funny is that Matt doesn't sleep either, so when I woke up at my usual 2:00 am, he was in the living room watching TV. So, I made him some corned beef hash and eggs and we watched a little Expedition Unknown on the travel channel and finally went to bed at 4. This is not right. Right? I mean, normal people go to bed at a reasonable hour and sleep through the night, right? RIGHT? I just wanted to see how many times I could type the word 'right'. My coworker was like "Tylenol PM, for real". It's worth a shot, because all of my other methods are squat.
QOTD! Since I don't sleep and all the lady mags are like "get into a bedtime routine for better sleep", I want to know what your bedtime routine is. Typically I will make sure the kitchen is cleaned up, maybe watch some TV or scroll Pinterest and then get into bed around 9:30-10. I'll read for a little and then shut the light off around 10:30. And then I'll sleep for a few hours, wake up, be awake for another few hours and then fall back asleep an hour before my alarm goes off. Good times.
Time since surgery: 2 years, 4 days. LOL
B: HB egg and a slice of whole grain toast with SF jam
S: HB egg and a string cheese. Ugh.
L: bacon ranch tuna pouch, pork rinds and another string cheese
D: leftover picante chicken, yellow rice with capers and peas
Have a great day my menu friends!

Not sleeping is the worst! I battle with it myself time to time. I do find I sleep so much better on the days I've been super active. I can tell when I miss a workout cause my body is still ready to go. It is supposed to be super hot here today too. Little girl has a cross country race at 4 so I'll be blowing the pop stand early and taking her to that. Is it awful that I wish I could race too?
Got a meeting in a few so this will be quick!
Time since surgery: 2+ years
B: Coffee and cream
S: Breakfast sammy and coffee
L: Lean Cuisine (1 of the 10 I have stashed in the office freezer right now )
S: Iced Tea and almonds

E: Ride on the trainer (way too hot to ride outside)
W/V: Started
Have a great day folks!
Good morning! I had the day from HELL yesterday at work you guys. Today is shaping up to be similar, but here's to hoping. Sorry about the AC Kristen. Buy yo'self some of that!
QOTD: Since Jason has starting working nights, I generally either read or watch tv for a bit after the kids are in bed. I'm ending up in bed between 10 and 11 most nights. I sleep like a log straight until 5:15 though, am usually mentally exhausted!
B- toppings off 1/2 piece of breakfast pizza & irish tea w/SF creamer
L- buffalo tuna packet & cheddar cheese stick
D-? (going to do garden at parents again, who knows)
S- triple zero yogurt
S- bacon
S- protein shake
Totals: meh. I think they are close to where they need to be if I eat protein forward at dinner. The scale is my nemesis this week. Back up a pound this morning. I'm going to have to stop weighing until Monday (weigh day) I guess.
Consult Weight:276/Surgery Day Weight: 241.6 /Goal Weight: 150
Hope your day gets better. I'm having scale issues myself. I haven't lost anything all week and am actually gaining and losing the same amount. I'm torn right now. I knew I wouldn't lose a ton and that it would be slow going, but I'd hoped for more. on the one hand, I want to try and get my calories lower. On the other hand, my dr. told me he wouldn't clear me for activity until I get my calories back up close to where they were pre surgery. I want my activities back, but I also want to get back to my low weight. Why can't a girl have it all????
Love that one if your snacks is bacon.

Hello to my favorite Menu Peeps!
Thanks for all of the kind words about my 1 year surgiversary yesterday! I barely had time to check back in because I was so busy, but it gave me lots of warm fuzzies to see that I have such a loving and supportive community here! It really means so much :)
I especially appreciated how great you all are after I went to my support group last night. I was just super annoyed with everyone!! It was mostly people who were 2 - 9 months out and being big old know-it-alls about things they cannot possibly be experts on, yet. We needed some OH vets to give them a smack-down (LOL) but I was too tired...
Ok, I hate to be "that girl" but since you all kind of know my boyfriend, I am going to indulge in annoying behavior and gush about how wonderful he is. The last two weeks have been ridiculously busy and stressful for me. I have one more hellish day to get through (today) before I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Last night I was at the store trying to get the things I needed for today and talking to Grim on the phone. He helped me realize that I didn't have what I needed and if I had to buy it, it would cost me over $200. I pretty much had a meltdown in the store. So instead of being annoyed with me (I would have been...) he jumped in his car and brought me everything I needed. My hero!!!!! Seriously, how did I get so lucky?
QOTD: I took Nyquil for the first time last night and I slept like a rock from 9pm-5am! Yassss! But my normal routine is to read a little if I need to or when I'm stalling, I'll read FB or work emails instead of a book (which never helps). But I can't complain...I'm pretty great at falling asleep, I'm just bad at staying asleep.
Alright, onto what I am eating today... I admit it's not the best, but I am on the road all day with no refrigerator, a group lunch, and at least 5 hours of driving. It could be worse...
5am: Fit Frappe Chai Latte and and egg with shredded cheese
8am: almonds and babybel cheese (while I am on the road)
12pm: cheese pizza toppings (no bread)
3pm: Mr. Cheese Os
6pm: Mission 1 Protein Bar (back on the road!)
