Been a long time!
Hi everyone,
Well I'm back after being gone for several years. I have had two failed attempts at getting my surgery. My first, my primary Dr was doing my 6 month weight loss for surgery and messed it up. My second I had my consult with surgeon and needed to lose 40lbs then I was a go for surgery. Then my husbands insurance changed and new insurance didn't cover.
So here I am on my third attempt. This insurance wanted a six month weight loss since I hadn't done a supervised one in the last 3 years. I go Thursday for my 5th appointment on that and my Dr is planning my surgery for September as long as everything goes as planned. He wanted me to lose 40-50 pounds before surger and as of Saturday I was at 48lbs lost. Yay! So happy about that. So now to just wrap up cardiac clearance so my primary will sign off on surgery and completion of phsych eval and I think everything is completed other than one more weight loss appt next month. So pray that everything goes good for me and it all stays on track.

Glad you stuck with it and are trying again for surgery. You will be amazed at the journey and how much better you will feel. Where are you having your surgery Done? Not nosy but I live near Alton Illinois and had mine done at Depaul Hospital 4 years ago. I used to weigh 273 and have weighed 118 to 123 for the last 3 years after being obese even as a child. Here's a before and after. Best decision I ever made!
May your wait make you doubly Blessed. I used every moment of the six-month insurance timeframe to get my mind and body ready. I lost about 85 lbs pre-op being told every pound will help lower surgery risks; congrats on 48. Endnote: my DH and I just celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary by renting bicycles at a state park; we giggled like newlyweds. Life is so much better, you'll see.
I love this story
