Upper left pain
Hi, i am almost a week post from the RNY. I keep getting a sharp stabing pain in the upper left quadrant of my stomach. I'm just wondering if this is normal or if i ripped something lol also is their a trick to getting more of a water intake. With the protein and water i can only get about 30 oz of water in. Question three lol i am super nausea all the time. I take the zofran they gave me but it only works for a half hour. I'm so nauseous i don't even wanna drink water. I've been on a clear liquid diet because of the nausea. Just wondering if this is normal and what i can do to make it more tolerable. Thanks sooo much in advance!!
I'd call the surgeon's office about the sharp, stabbing pain. You need to drink more. Dehydration will make you nauseated. Just keep sipping.

Watch the clock and sip one or two ounces of water every 15 minutes. Keep water next to your bed and drink more any time you wake up. 64 ounces is the minimum needed. More is better.
Dehydration causes nausea. The pain is most likely where a muscle was cut during surgery. Take pain medication if needed until it heals.
