What is on your Monday Menu RNYers?
I own five pairs of shoes. Black flats, black with a wedge, black Crocs for house shoes (the children and the Guy all say I am NEVER to wear them out of the house), black cowboy boots with a teal blue top, and leather boots. Dats it.
I need more shoes apparently!!! Accepting donations...size 6 1/2 or 7. :)

I had some but they were several years old and didn't fit anymore. I gave them to a charity thrift shop. I need new ones but just haven't gotten around to it. My little teal boots serve pretty well for walking/exercising for the moment.
None of my shoes fit right after I lost all the weight so I had to get a new pair of black flats for work. The wedge ones don't fit right but they sort of have elastic across the instep so they sort of 'hang on.' My big black leather boots are way too big now but they were custom made for me and I love them so I keep hanging on and thinking I can shove a pad inside and make it work.
Weird thing is I didn't actually have more shoes before. I just never really did much in the way of shoes I guess. My feet have always given me difficulty and so I only bought super pricey grandma looking shoes. Any cute shoes and I would be limping around.
Now that I think about it this is all sort of tragic sounding in the shoe department. Worse...I'm better off in the shoes than in the bras. LOL
This WLS is kinda a pain in the butt when it comes to needing to buy things.

Morning Cyndy and the gang! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I'm prepping this week to be ready for our vacation next week. We are driving to Lexington, KY on Saturday, on our way to Charlotte, NC. Sunday we hit Charlotte and are crashing a night at my Uncles house, then on Monday we're going to Lake Lure, NC. Actually, the hotel/resort we are going to is where the movie Dirty Dancing was filmed. There is a lot to do in the area, like touristy stuff like mining your own gems, horseback riding, stuff like that. On Tuesday we're driving to Asheville for dinner with a friend. We're leaving on Thursday to drive back home and will stay in Charleston, WV (I think). we'll get home on Friday with enough time for my hubby to decompress before he has to get back to work on Monday.
I am so excited about your surgery! Sending prayers that everything goes smoothly.
CQOTD: I have to be honest, I know most of you guys were awesome at losing weight and then gained it all back. I have never been good at losing. I was okay at maintaining my weight for a short time, but only when something major spurred me. I was diagnosed as type 2 diabetic and I stopped gaining weight and did the whole low glycemic thing for a while, then I got pregnant and a healthy baby was my focus, so I ate well and managed my blood sugar well. But when I didn't have something like that to push me, it was just a slow, steady climb on the scale.
Now I'm nearly 1 year post op and I'm struggling to lose. It's my eating, the recent changes in my schedule and life and just being almost a year out and being burnt out on it all. No excuses, I'm not giving up. The last few days haven't been perfect, but I'm making strides to get back on track, and each day is better than the last. My weight this morning was 165.4. That's 2lbs up from my lowest a month ago.
nearly 1 year since surgery

I'm walking with my kiddo to the library this morning. Also, I'm going to try to get into the salon this week to see if I can get this hair taken care of. My hair is growing back in where it fell out and it's all silvery. I don't think any dark hair is coming back in, and I don't know how I feel about that, lol. I have decided to do something fun with my hair, so I will post pics later in the week if I can actually get a sitter and get in. My mother in law will watch him, but only on Monday's, Wednesdays and Fridays before 2pm, lol.
How exciting to do something new with your hair! You definitely have to post pictures! I just keep letting mine get longer and longer. I knew about the hair loss with the surgery, and that's when I decided to just let it go long. I figure when the hair loss starts, I'll be ready for something new! So maybe you'll inspire me with a new do!
