What is on your Monday Menu RNYers?
Yeah on the new low weight! That's a great start to your week for sure. And I'm glad to hear your son is doing well. It's amazing how much better young people bounce back from surgery than we adults do! It's lucky to have you as his mom, even if he sometimes makes you want to kick kittens. I do think that pretty much every teen ever though!
I'm a medical counselor...ie, I can ask you how you feel about getting a shot but can't give you one.
And thank you! My body definitely feel little to me. It is weird. I can feel my hip bones and stuff. Creepy. Good creepy but still creepy. LOL

Good morning everyone, Congratulations on the decision for the thigh lift. It makes such a difference when you have a strong support system after surgery. So great that you will have so much help.
I had my monthly B12 shot and weigh in this morning, and of course I used all of the tricks that you have all mentioned. No food, lightest clothing, etc. I have also been known to take off all of my jewelry in the waiting area. That's what they get when they weigh you by the ounce!
QOTD: I think the most helpful diet tip I have continued to use over the years is recording everything I eat. I know in the past that the minute I stopped recording everything, I started packing on the weight. Or maybe I started packing on the weight, and then stopped recording? Either way, if I am recording, I do so much better. Plus, there is research that supports this.
Today's weight: 138.2
Time Since Surgery: 20 months

You (and everyone else) who can be BELOW goal are my hero's ....for real. I am struggling just to stay within 5 lbs of my goal weight! LOL Just goes to show you have your head screwed on a little better than mine when it comes to this "lifestyle".
Good morning all and happy Monday. Really late post today but I had to cover a court appearance. Recovery continues to go well and I thank you all for your support. It's been invaluable to me. My surgeon released me for new food, so I had some baked salmon last night. It went well, so trying tuna today.
CQOTD: I do the salad dressing trick (sometimes). I didn't really have many tricks. I always lost weight when I went low carb, but could never sustain it. When I went to therapy, in discussing food issues, I was always able to pinpoint the exact time when I threw in the towel and went back to my old ways. It was odd, but somewhat eye opening. Now I'm working on techniques to make sure that doesn't happen again.
Here's my plan:
B: Shake
L: tuna with mayo for moisture
D: Salmon, laughing cow
S: Skinny vanilla latte with miralax add in, Laughing cow cheese wedge, cottage cheese, light and fit (seems like a lot, but my Dr. wants me to eat every 2-3 hours and wants my calories back up to pre-surgery amounts ASAP. It affects my blood work otherwise)
Totals: Cal. 707; Protein: 99g; Fat: 16g; Carbs: 39 (now that's what I'm talking about!!)
Hoping the miralax does what it should and I can start losing again. I've been stuck at the same weight since 7/13. My surgeon said I was unlikely to lose much, and I'd LOVE to prove him wrong.
