You really have to be careful about adding fruit to your shakes.  The only one I ever add is strawberries.  But I rarely drink shakes anymore, since I prefer to eat my protein.  My go to with fruit would be simple, 1/5 cups of unsweetened vanilla almond milk with a scoop of Quest Vanilla Milkshake powder and about 1oz of fresh strawberries.  I don't use ice, because I don't like them to be shakes.

But, my very favorite shake is the same thing as the one above, but no strawberries and a dash of pumpkin pie spice.  Spicy Vanilla is yummy.

Thank You I haven't even gotten to that point yet but was thinking if I will be able to incorporate fruit into protein milkshakes and any info is so helpful.

Don't add fruit to anything. Ever. It's sugar and extra calories. That goes for preop and especially postop.

We helped get to obesity by add-ons. Adding fruit to a perfectly good protein shake, peanut butter and jam on crackers or toast, dressing on what was once a healthy salad, cream cheese on a bagel, topping on popcorn -- the list goes on.

Jettison add-ons now, and forever.

For every thing I have read I don't believe salad touches Grim's lips!

you can get low calorie dressings and use those- I would dip my fork into the dressing then the salad greens. You use a ton less.

but the point is- people think they are being 'healthy' by getting a salad - then 1000 calories later....

I put organic cottage cheese on my salad as the dressing.  It adds moisture and good protein.
