I'm in a K-8 school.  Your job sounds challenging but it must be very satisfying to see the results.  I hope you get to enjoy a bit of the summer!

QOTD: I am a high school math teacher. I have learned to get 99% of things done at school. I get too busy with my kids once I get home and nothing ever gets graded here. I love my job and I love my summers off. 23 years down, only 4 more to go until I can retire. I will most likely work 7 more, until my younger daughter graduates high school and then I will find something else to do. Teaching is awesome, but so mentally exhausting for me, I must admit. I work at a tough school. I love my kids, but they have such heartbreaking stories and I tend to get overly involved.

I have my 8 year follow-up with my surgeon in a few weeks so I need to cut back on the snacking to lose a few pounds before then. I am at my goal weight, but like being a few pounds under as a "cushion." Sometimes I still fear I will gain it all back, but most of the time I am confident in my ability to keep the weight off.

Goals today: no more than 1500 calories and 20K steps.

Ah, but I rode my bike into work.

Ooh girl y'all got that Texas heat too! It get's in the 90's here with the humidity, people start cranking on those air conditioners. I'm at work now & my job just asked me to stay for an extra 4. Hmm, maybe I'll get in a few extra steps.

I bow down to your 15k in all that heat!

And that's why I don't have fitbit friends.  I do try to get my 10k steps..and most of the days I am well above 8k.. That is nice improvement from 5--6k or less a day...

I see your 15k...and just thinking about that - get tired...lol..

i've long given up on 10k being my goal for the day. My step goal is 6K. Even on days when I run I barely get 10k steps. Yesterday I cleared 11k, but that's cause we went to an outdoor festival in addition to my exercise. Either my Apple Watch calibration is off, or I'm dragging my feet while I walk/run.

Morning pouch pals!! Funny you bring up napping- last few weekends I would not have made it though the day without an afternoon snooze. During the week I'm fine, but the weekend is a different tale.

I could use some encouragement. I woke feeling so discouraged- like I'm never gonna meet my goal. My hubby snapped this pic of me yesterday and it took me a minute to realize it was ME. (And I did not eat anything from there). I'm worlds away from where I was,but feel light years away from where I want to be. I feel like I'm at that awful place at the end of pregnancy when time seems to stand still before delivery. My head is totally I'm the game- which is what make this all the more maddening. I pushed though and went to the gym and market to make sure I have Protein friendly options.
