QOTD - I've had several advertisements with my pic in the newspaper for my business. Other than that, just a local news station interview when the neighbor's house suddenly blew up and a meth lab was discovered inside - DOH! It was one of those "this is a quiet neighborhood, we had no idea something like this was going on..." things. 10.4 seconds of fame, right?
My Friday pic is something I'm really proud of. My late father was a retired Captain on the San Diego Fire Department - 36 years of service. for Christmas every year he would get us official SDFD T-shirts and jackets - they even make them for babies. But you have to show your badge and be in the system to buy anything official and there are rules to wear them, much like military, you can't be seen drinking alcohol or any other activities that would denigrate the uniform. And you can't lend them or give them away or donate them to charity. They are strictly for firefighters and their families. Some day I'm going to make a quilt with all my old gear that I can't wear anymore (too big, or child-sized, I've kept everything since I was a baby).
Anyway, Mom still has Dad's badge and she got me in to shop to my heart's content for my B.day. Instead of 3X or 4X - everything I got is Medium or even SMALL! Here's one of the outfits I got - just in time to wear for 4th of July.
Thanks for letting me share my story. Dad, I miss you and I'm proud to wear your colors again.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I'm late in posting. I tend to sleep TOO much. I sleep well at night and take naps during the day. I think it has to do with my Depression and maybe the meds I am on.
QOTD: Never been on TV. I was in the newspaper for various honors in high school but my favorite time being in the newspaper was when my dad came from Pennsylvania to visit. His shy, fat beagle, Butler, got lost for 6 days in the July heat and we thought he was a goner. We put up REWARD! LOST DOG posters all over town and everyone in town was looking for him. Finally some fishermen found him in the middle of the spillway clinging to a log (he couldn't swim). It was such a big deal in our small town that we made the front page of the newspaper!
I still ate 2 protein bars yesterday, but I did eat some rib-eye steak, which went down smoothly (today's rib-eye steak did not agree with my pouch, though). I am trying to get back to eating more dense protein and less microwave meals and protein bars.
